Seo Kang Joon to Enlist for Military Service on November 23, 2021 After Completing Filming for Secret Forest Screenwriter’s Disney+ K-drama Grid

There are so many streaming platforms getting into K-dramas that I’m surprised its taken Disney+ this long. The media giant has invested in a sci-fi drama called Grid (initially called Zero) from the screenwriter of Secret Forest (Stranger) 1 and 2 that has been quietly filming for the last few months with a 2022 airing date on deck. The male lead is Seo Kang Joon with female lead Kim Ah Joong and now comes news that the drama has wrapped production and on its heels that means it’s time to send another actor off to the militarty. Seo Kang Joon will be enlisting at the end of the month on November 23, 2021 and he’s really pushed his entry date to nearly the end of the time table. His agency explained that he wanted to finish this drama first before heading off and that’s understandable, it’s always good to leave a project to air during enlistment which helps shorten the period away from the public eye. Good luck to Seo Kang Joon!

  2. The last 93 liner leaves so that means next year 94 line will start enlisting. Who will go first? Nam Joo Hyuk? Song Kang? One of the boys from Racket Boys also enlisted and he’s only 2002 born.

  3. i have been pleasantly surprised with seo kang joon’s project picks in the recent years. he could’ve easily boxed himself into the flower boy male lead role, but he always goes out of his way to play unconventional roles and dramas that most likely would not get him a hard and fast hallyu hit. i’m excited for this drama, and glad that we’re going to have something to watch while he’s away completing his service.

  4. I’m glad we will have a new drama to watch while he’s gone.

Not excited by the Disney+ part. I believe Snowdrop is first up on there

  5. Ah, another of the 90s liners that I will miss onscreen. Always thought he has a bright potential as ML. Choosing a mix of different projects & not allowing himself to be typecast is a smart move. Fighting Seo Kang Joon.

  6. Another enlistment. Good luck SJK. On another note, happy news from Honey Lee and Lee Si Eon. Hope this will herald more dating and wedding announcements down the pipeline. Jejudo is super busy hosting weddings & honeymoons!

  7. Watcher is such an underrated drama. If you like crime thriller you should definitely try it. He was so good there. It’s also the same director and writer of Happiness which I am currently enjoying. Ahn Gil ho really the best director when it comes to genre. They have the same camera angle and the title appears at the beginning of the drama. I hope they explain why the title is Happiness at the end of the drama just like they did for Watcher.

Good luck Seo Kang Joon. I’ll make sure to try out Grid for you and because it’s the Secret Forest writer.
