jTBC Female Friendship and Growth Drama Thirty Nine with Son Ye Jin, Jeon Mi Do, and Kim Ji Hyun Gears Up for February 16th Premiere

Clearly female lead Son Ye Jin is all over the news right before her new drama Thirty Nine premieres on jTBC on February 16th but it doesn’t feel of promotion that she announced her marriage to Hyun Bin next month and more just squeezing in the break before the next job starts up. The drama has completed filming and will premiere on the Wed-Thurs time slot, and flanking Son Ye Jin as her two besties are Jeon Mi Do and Kim Ji Hyun. Each ladies brings such distinctive charm and energy, the casting director did a great job on paper and hopefully it delivers onscreen. Their male leads will be Yeon Woo Jin, Lee Moo Saeng, and Lee Tae Hwan and lol I see this as dating across the age spectrum with older, same age, and noona-dongsaeng so something for everyone. I’m so excited for this drama and if the ratings shine it will feel like a good tiding to send of Son Ye Jin into marriage.

  1. I like the drama’s vibe so far from the stills I’ve seen and I hope it delivers. The last SYJ drama I enjoyed was Personal Taste and it was so long ago.

  2. It looks really good. My only doubt is Kim Ji-Hyun, I’m so used to watch her in roles that I don’t like, it will be weird. In addition, she’s the one with the noona romance. Chemistry is needed for this kind of love relationship.

  3. No confirmed Son Ye Jin project yet after 39. News says she’ll take a break to focus on being a newlywed. Hyun Bin also not scheduled for anything until the last quarter of this year. Looks like both will be making a lot of time for their marriage before doing any new projects.

  4. I hope this is good, haven’t been able to get into Kdramas these days at all probably because it’s a new year and there aren’t many kdramas airing, and the ones aren’t really that fantastic or groundbreaking so I hope this is atleast well written and good enough to keep me in.

On the other hand Cdramas have started year very well. I have seen two quality Cdramas already this year in Reset and Shining For One Thing, I hope they can keep it up

    • Cdramas deserve more love on this blog. Reset was excellent baring a few propaganda points with the over glorification of the police but SFOT is a true gem and a complete surprise since it barely had any promotions or notable leads. Excellent dramas both and better than most Kdramas especially for the sci-fi bits. There needs to be more coverage for Cdramas on popular blogs like this.
