Kim So Yeon Confirmed as New Female Lead for Tale of Gumiho 2 with Returning Lee Dong Wook and Kim Bum

I feel like this second season or prequel to tvN drama Tale of Gumiho seems rather superfluous in that it doesn’t address what the diehard fans want in terms of continuation and/or closure. tvN has announced that it will be producing another installment of Tale of Gumiho (Tale of the Nine-tailed) but it won’t be a follow up to where the original drama left off and will instead be a prequel of sorts. It’s set in the 1930’s era Korea and the new female lead will be Kim So Yeon, playing an ageless beauty running the most exclusive restaurant in the capital, who turns out to be a goddess and one of the four Mountain Gods along with Lee Dong Wook‘s gumiho character. Kim Bum will also be returning as angry gumi-bro and the drama is slated for 12-episodes to air in early 2023.

  1. Usually, I don`t watch this kind of dramas but I will watch for Kim So Yeon. From what I read, it looks like her character is a strong woman, on par with the hero, so I am pleased. I hope for a good script. We`ll see.
