Park Hyung Sik and Han So Hee Radiate Chemistry in Cute Promotional Stills for Disney+ K-drama Soundtrack #1

The foray of Disney+ into K-drama land has been wonky off the bat. It picked controversial Snowdrop to stream and got some early blowback. And recently it premiered sci-fi thriller Grid but didn’t go any meaningful promotions and the drama seems to have just been forgotten. I hope it doesn’t stash Soundtrack #1 away to grow musty because a short 4-episode romance between two longtime friends played by Han So Hee and Park Hyung Sik sounds just lovely. The promos have played up the mellow vibe and she’s a songwriter while he’s a photographer so the drama has plenty of reasons to drop pretty pictures and swoony music to accompany the changing romantic tides. The drama premieres on March 23rd so just one week away woo hoo!

  2. The reason why disney+ dramas aren’t getting buzz is because they refuse to give them a proper worldwide release. Them picking up a drama means we will not get to see it for months. Its going backwards not forwards.

    • I agree! It’s really annoying. Encourages some people to just get the release via illegal means.

PHS and HSH do look adorable together! And 4 episodes makes it an easy watch.

    • This.

Disney+ Korea is doing a lot of advertising for this on IG. But since they are completely clueless as to how Kdrama viewership actually works (no international boundaries/everyone watches at the same time), they are shooting themselves in the foot.

  3. Having a show be on Disney+ is the equivalent of a drama death sentence bc few people watch it and most people forget it even exists.

If I were an actor I would refuse to work with Disney until they get their act together because all your work just goes down the drain.

  4. I really hope Disney gets its act together before Lee Jong Suk’s comeback drama. (Bit Mouth) A lot of people are waiting for that one, and if they just stuff it under the bed like they have been doing…ahhhh, not good. I’m hoping they get tons of feedback on this issue between now and then, and realize they need to catch up with the times.

  5. Rookie cops ! ??? A big joke . Nice photoshoot , but i prefer the one with Ahn Bo Hyun and Jo Bo Ah for MP DO Be Man .

  6. I don’t understand the criticism towards Disney+. It is early days for Kdramas with this streaming service. I am grateful that they are funding and producing the Kdramas. I am in Australia and have problems with Rakuten Viki. Not all Kdramas are available for viewing in my region via Viki.

I am looking forward to this drama. It appears to a gentle, heartwarming love story free of the toxic relationships often present in Kdramas.

    • Disney + is not available in the Philippines. Not sure about Indonesia, Thailand, etc. The thing is, many kdrama watchers are from these areas.

      • It’s called ‘Disney+ Hotstar’ in Indonesia and Thailand. Not sure about the difference but Soundtrack has been promoted in both markets (as well as other Asian markets) so I expect it’ll be available in those countries.

What I don’t get with Disney+ is why it seems to only premiere their shows in Asian markets and not globally.

    • I understand the criticism but part of me objectively agrees that it’s still too early to judge Disney+’s success in Korea yet. Netflix came to Korea in 2016 but their first original K-series Kingdom was released in 2019, 3 years after the launch. It’s only been 4 months for Disney+ but they already have 2 original K-series airing and more to come. Sadly Disney+ is underperforming atm in Korea so I feel really bad for all it’s early original K-contents affected by this and not getting the attention they deserve. Good luck to this drama.
