Forecasting Love and Weather Runs into Standing Pattern by Episodes 11-12 with Steady Ratings But Also No Strong Romantic Momentum

I knew it was a little too good to last but Forecasting Love and Weather did keep me interested through the midway point of airing at least. Last weekend I was starting to space out and this weekend’s episodes 11-12 really proved the storytelling has stalled somewhere between a real problem and not a problem at all. Ha Kyung and Si Woo either have to permanently break up because of their fundamental different desire for marriage or just keep loving and dating each other forever and see where it goes. Breaking up and getting back together with no change in mental beliefs is just a stagnant weather pattern hovering over everything sucking the air out of what was a refreshingly nice drama. This week’s ratings stayed at 7.232% and 7.618% so this drama will likely average around 7% when it finishes so still a success for jTBC and the cast involved. But right now I wish the story could really kick everything up a notch and also kick Si Woo’s awful, dreadful, I want to kill him dad out of the picture as soon as possible.

Forecasting Love and Weather Runs into Standing Pattern by Episodes 11-12 with Steady Ratings But Also No Strong Romantic Momentum — 19 Comments

  1. I dropped the drama the moment the dad entered the picture. There was already the age gap, the job title, plus the exes the addition of the dad is really just too much.

    • That phase of rough weather which Si-woo unexpectedly encountered in Jeju Island was meant to be in the storyline so that:
      1. He was given (and which he took) the opportunity
to break both relations – with his father, as well as with his covert lover/boss.
      2. He will test his relationship with his secret lover under more demanding but perilious condition.

    • i didn’t like story n after a couple of episodes stopped watching because story line.
isn’t exciting n lead couple chemistry is nt so good. Please dont get offend if any korian is here i just don’t understand the obsession fr older lady n younger boy fr romantic series cant digest

  4. I’m with you miss koala. I want to kill Si Woo’s dad too. Haha. The most annoying dad in kdrama goes to si woo’s dad. But still, FLAW is my happy pill. Can’t imagine Saturday and Sunday without it. I signed up for Netflix because of this drama. While waiting for FLAW, I watched When the weather is fine starring PMY and SKJ. I cried overload. It’s slow paced drama but very beautiful. PMY is indeed a chemistry queen. She’s shippable with actors she worked with.

  5. Am so disappointed in this drama cause I was expecting so much from it. I liked the fact that the relationship very early which was supposed to give us more time to see them grow together in the relationship but nah, they just had to bring in obstacles upon obstacles along the line and it started to get boring. The weather forecasting was very interesting and refreshing at the beginning but I started losing interest in that too which is a shame.

The FL is supposed to be mature and talented woman but am getting quite the opposite vibes from her, she’s so indecisive, first she wanted to get married, then she doesn’t and little things seems to be changing her mind very often.

I’ll probably finish the series because I’m curious about how it’ll end but with a lot of fast forwarding.

    • I find BoMi’s mom super annoying too. First she was mad at the husband for staying away then she was mad at him for moving back in…and now she’s mad because he moved out again.if she was having a hard time on her own then why not communicate earlier on instead of bottling up resentment.
Female lead is getting a bit annoying, just watching things happen instead of acting decisively. The episode where the deadbeat loser dad slaps Si Woo on his injured side of the face, in a hospital with many people including medical staff watching…really? And our female lead did …nothing. besides why do these people tolerate that unpleasant man disrupting a workplace and threatening staff, and demanding money. Is the son not an adult? If compensation is due, why would it go to the father and not to the son who actually was hurt on the job? Do they pay his salary to his parent?
Why is the female lead’s mom hell bent on getting only one daughter martied off? She has another single daughter. Why is she not bothered that she is also single? Or is it because she was married briefly so she is now expected to be single all her life? Is no one finding that problematic? The older sister’s marriage lasted a lot less than main lead’s 10 year relationship.Just saying..

      • You are so spot on. Every one of these points is why i find watching eps annoying even if i’m fine with the drama overall. But they rly drove home these traits of these side characters and don’t have them grow or change from episode to episode which is frustrating to watch.

  6. This past weekends episodes were definitely the weakest story wise; however, I really like this drama. It is one of the most realistic relationship k-dramas that I have ever seen. I can go to Business Proposal for cute and fluffy and I’m there for it. I think Forecasting probably only needed to be 14 episodes so, yeah, the 16 episode thing kills momentum. However, I can actually say I know people like the ones on this show. I swear the clueless senior forecaster who doesn’t know how to function in his marriage or with fatherhood…Yeah, I’ve seen that irl. The pitfalls of the other relationships and frustratingly real i.e. rebound relationship.

  7. Achei o tema interessante e amo os atores PMY e SK, mas não sou fã dos filmes dessa roteirista. Esse pai irritante está demais, a mãe da prota também é muito chata. Vou assistir até o fim, mas o elenco merecia um roteiro melhor.

  8. Forecasting Love& weather is amazing,
the plot is good very interesting that
the actors makes the plot greater. Particular Ha kyoung &si wood if peoples
likes Romeo & Juliet this series is not for u.this is drama with all the component, we love the craft of the cast.
    La mia famiglia lo Amava.

  10. I really love flaw!!! Coz i love park min young!..it doesn’t matter what the ratings is, i still love the show. It has a mature and real love story…. I hope si woo and ha kyung still be together in the end…

  11. It was good until siwoo’s dad show up, and bomi’s mom misunderstood her husband. Both characters are so bad. The mom acted like she is the only victim in the entire relationship. No one else is suffering. So annoying. Siwoo’s dad might be a realistic character, but no women will stick around a man with a father like siwoo’s. Hence, not relatable at all. I stopped watching.

  12. People are so judgemental while the drama is still running on air. They also forgot the title of the drama they are watching….it isn’t just forecasting weather…but also LOVE….the male lead has a hitch of not believing in marriage due to his father and his bad past and how that is going to go….you need to have a plot where he should realise that marriage is commitment between two loved persons and that would last until they grow old and die….the plot is good as per me and it is taking good turns and twists….Park Min Young has done a good job in handling her role and so did Soon Kang….i wish them all the very best and hope audiences would wait patiently to watch what comes next rather than judging the plot or the characters played….

  13. I see it now. Why this kdrama’s title initials r FLAW. Cuz the show is literally so full of it- FLAWS. From messy relationships, affairs, dreaded love triangles , misunderstandings, making decisions, characters weird story arcs etc etc.
