Veteran K-film Actress Kang Soo Yeon Rushed to Hospital After Being Found Unconscious in Home in Critical Condition

What a sad news to share as K-ent is reporting that veteran actress Kang Soo Yeon is in the hospital fighting for her life. She was found unconscious at home by her family and rushed to the ER where she is currently being treated for what is likely a stroke, a burst blood vessel in the brain. When the ambulance arrived at her home her heart was reportedly stopped and had to be restarted. Most K-drama viewers will likely not be familiar with her as she did two K-dramas early in her career one being the female lead in 2001 drama Ladies in the Palace and also the female lead in 2007 weekend drama Moon Hee. But her bread and butter is in Chungmuro in film with over thirty (30!) movies under her belt and she is actually the first Korean actress to win an acting award at an international film festival – in 1987 she won Best Actress for the movie The Surrogate Woman at the 44th Venice Film Festival and in 1989 she won Best Actress for Come, Come, Come, Upward at the Moscow International Film Festival. Over the years she’s also won Best Actress in South Korea at the Baeksang Awards, Grand Bell Award, and the Blue Dragon Film Awards. Sending mental prayers for her recovery.
