Netflix Announces Second and Third Seasons of Action Monster Drama Sweet Home with Song Kang, Lee Shi Young, and Lee Jin Wook Returning Along with New Additions

I think Sweet Home really kicked off the Netflix produced K-drama craze, it aired in December 2020 and we all know the explosion that happened in 2021. Sweet Home trended high on viewership when it aired and there was always talk of successive season(s) but while other later aired Netflix dramas got next season announcements sooner it’s now time for the apartment denizens to re-assemble and fight more mutated monsters. The streaming platform has announced new season 2 and 3 at the same time and returning will be leads Song Kang, Lee Jin Wook, Lee Shi Young, Park Kyu Young, and Go Min Si. New additions include Jung Jin Young, Oh Jung Se, Kim Moo Yeol, and Yoo Oh Sung. There is one major name missing from the original season leads in Lee Do Hyun but if the drama can find a way to bring him back that would be great but honestly the first season ended where the webtoon ended so the new seasons will be brand new stories not from the webtoon writer so it’ll be interesting to see how it stacks up.

  2. those stills from season one are bone chilling. i’m elated to hear they’ll be back and with most of the original cast! sweet home was rough around the edges and not nearly as polished as squid game but i think it had a lot more heart and emotional fire power. oh jung se’s addition is the cherry on top. i think they’d bring lee do hyun back if they could, but he may be booked for other projects.

wonder if they’ll film both 2 and 3 at once bc song kang needs to enlist by the end of the year afaik.

  3. It was pretty clear there was going to be more but it must have took awhile for everyone’s schedules to come together. Song Kang and Lee Jin Wook in particular have been busy for the past year. I’m glad they announced a second and third together so there’s not another long wait. I bet they film them together.
