Top K-movie Stars Attend Hammer Museum Gala as Bong Joon Ho’s Movie Parasite Premieres in US to Rave Reviews and High Box Office

I see a movie in the making, or at least a tableau that typically only happens in the backstage and after party of the Baeksang Awards. K-actress Im Soo Jung posted a picture on her SNS attending a party with famous film stars Ha Jung Woo and Jo Jin Woong, along with rising young actors Park So Dam and Jang Ki Young. Missing from that picture but also in attendance at the Hammer Museum Gala in Los Angeles is top actor Song Kang Ho and his frequent collaborator and award winning director Bong Joon Ho. It’s great timing since their latest movie Parasite premiered this past weekend in the US box office to incredible reviews and a fantastic box office haul for a foreign film. K-movies are once again top of the food chain among Asian cinema and for good reason, it pushes the envelope and is entertaining to watch. Continue reading
