Scoop on a New Look for One Participant in the Mary Marriage Sweeptstakes

[Edit: I added a new picture that shows the new look very clearly! – thanks @shiro401]

For those of you who have read the manhwa Mary Stayed Out All Night, this latest development will not come as a surprise. Even though the drama storyline has deviated from the get-go from the manhwa storyline, apparently this change will stay the same. Check it out after the jump.

Our Mu Gyul-yahhhhhh got a haircut!!! I know, just when I got used to it, he went and cut it like his character does in the manhwa. You can’t see it clearly in the pictures, but sources confirm that it was in fact cut. I’m assuming it’ll be unveiled in episode 6?

  • finally....jang geun seok with short haircut....although the long hair starts to grow on me and really suits his character, i still prefer him with short hair^^

  • Really?? I haven't read the manga so I didn't see this coming. I don't dislike the long hair but we all know that he'll look better with the short hair... but the prob is that I've already established his character here with the long hair so I'm going to miss it. :(

  • FINALLY!!
LMAO... yesterday while I was watching this drama and saw Jang Geun Seok, I began thinking about how he would look much better w/short hair....

  • We haven't seen it up close and personal yet, so I'm reserving judgement. Still, I wonder what led Mu Gyul to chop all of that lovely, lovely hair off. (Seriously, the boy has prettier hair than I do.) Is it because that one comment from Mae Ri--about how she didn't think he was manly--bothered him?

I don't know how I feel about that, because I think Mu Gyul is plenty manly as it is. His control over his life, his insistence on living and making music on his terms, how serious and diligent he is about his music are all things I find fascinating because they contrasted with his outward image, and, by virtue of that contrast, make his flashes of masculinity even more intriguing and attractive.

...oh, Lord, if my gender studies prof reads this, she'll probably drop-kick me into next week, but it is what it is, I suppose. But the gist of this is that he shouldn't need to cut his hair in order to appear as an attractive life partner for Mae Ri because all of his wonderful traits should already qualify him as such.

Then again, it may have gotten tangled in his guitar strings or something. I can't believe I'm saying this but--oh God--Monday, can't you come faster?

  • This is an abomination! HIS HAIR WAS MAGNIFICENT...Why do characters in all drama who have long hair or nice hair in general...always go and cut it at some point midway through the drama...is it supposed to signify a growth in the character or something?
