Written Preview for Episode 11 and 12 of Lie to Me

I think I finally can maybe/sorta understand the set-up and execution of Lie to Me. It’s a story told in reverse, with our OTP getting “married” first before even knowing each other. From that premise, it naturally turns the tables on courtship and attraction. So the first declaration that Ki Joon likes Ah Jung comes not in the form of some old-fashioned style overture, but in the form of him kissing her senseless while pretending to be her husband.

Consequently, the intensity of the Cola Kiss thereafter precedes their honest confession that they like each other. Their relationship may be unconventional in its progression, and hard for some viewers to relate to, but in the greater context completely overwhelms me because I’m swept up in the intensity where feelings can’t be explained and discussed inasmuch as it simply exists because they met each other. It’s heart-pumpingly good stuff, isn’t it?

Written preview for episode 11:

Onboard a ship bound for scenic Jeju Island, Ki Joon comes on deck and gets sick. Ah Jung pats him on the pack and teasingly wonders how the very important World Hotel President Hyun Ki Joon can be so weak. She snarks on why he would follow her here if he can’t handle a ship voyage.

Arriving on Jeju Island, Ki Joon and Ah Jung walk down a tree-lined boulevard and see a limo waiting for them. The inside of the limo is stocked like a mini-bar, with bottles of red wine, flower bouquets, and a fruit platter. Ah Jung pretends to be uninterested but really she wants to touch everything. Ki Joon gladly shows her all the functions.

At the hotel, Ah Jung sees So Ran, and runs up to talk with her. So Ran is upset at Ah Jung still, but once she sees Ki Joon walk up behind Ah Jung, So Ran thinks to herself that just maybe……

Written preview for episode 12:

Ah Jung goes back to her house and discovers a little crown in her bag. Because she has just come from seeing Yoon Joo, her face is dark with worry when she sees this. Suddenly Ah Jung gets a text on her phone, and it’s from Ki Joon who says “Sweet dreams, remember to dream about me.” Ah Jung smiles and texts him back “Hurry up and go to sleep, let’s meet in our dreams.” Ah Jung puts the small crown on top of her stuffed animal.

On the otherhand, Aunt, Ki Joon, Chairman Chen from Shanghai, Manager Park, and the directors of the World Group have all gathered around a table to sign the contract. Both sides are pleased with the partnership, but Ki Joon looks solemn. Once the meeting concludes and everyone applauds, Aunt gets up to leave when suddenly Ki Joon stands up and stares at Aunt, leaving everyone curious about what he’s about to do.

My Thoughts:

Squeee, OMO the Jeju trip is going to be so wonderful to watch. Oh, and just because I can’t get enough of how romantic this scene looks, reposting this picture from the earlier picture spoiler post. Normally handholding and forehead kisses are too chaste for my taste, but for our OTP it’s actually the sweetest and more intimate of gestures, the tenderness a surer sign of his devotion than his more passionate overtures. And a funny aside – Baiduers are noting that LTM finally has its first “boating” scene, and this time it’s actually means our OTP take a real boat somewhere. Mwahahaha, drama fans are so hilarious sometimes.

Note: when posting in the comments section any links, spoilers, pictures, etc., please read the comments above (and also check if it’s already in the post body itself) because I’m seeing people posting the same stuff over and over. Just want to cut down on comment clutter to keep the thread easier to read and follow.
