Moon Geun Young Does Simple Chic for Basic House China Fall 2011
I don’t know why, but since Moon Geun Young became the female face for Basic House this year, I’ve liked her ads for China much much better than the ones she did for Korea, where she’s paired with Won Bin. Is it the China concept being more interesting? Not sure, but I have a sneaking suspicion that maybe I ought to thank the photographer who tooked the China ad pictures. The ads focus on Geun Young more than the clothes, which makes more sense if you ask me. If you want to focus on the clothes, might as well stick it on a rack. But Geun Young’s face and body langauage is so flexible and wide-ranging, by allowing her to be the focus of each shot, my eyes linger on the picture itself longer, thereby growing to notice the clothes and appreciating it more. Basic House clothes are just like it’s name implies, the Korean home brand of Gap crossed with J. Crew. Nothing to write home about, so sell it with some gorgeous pictorials and now we’re talking.
