Spoiler Pictures for Cute Water Play in Episode 8 of Big

I can sincerely say that Big is a drama that is much better watched than reading the recaps. I don’t always feel this way, as a recap writer I actually resort to reading recaps of my own or others for certain dramas I’m in the mood to revisit. Sometimes it’s to reminisce about a scene, other times to savor an interlude. Thus far with Big, I can’t seem to capture the ephemeral quality of this drama in words. It eludes me, how to describe the oddest sensations of wanting to cry at a particular touching moment, or feeling this swelling emotion that isn’t quite ready to overflow. For once I’m loving the surfeit of symbolism the Hong Sisters are tossing into this drama and enjoy musing about random little connections I form. Watching Da Ran and Kyung Joon play in the yard with a garden hose, the water coming down, reminds me of their first rainy meeting off the bus. I wonder if it’ll trigger the same memory in Da Ran?

One of my favorite video makers Vitriana appears to have boarded the Gong Yoo+Lee Min Jung ship. I’m not on said ship, but I completely support anyone who loves them together, because they are magical. Their chemistry is completely illusory, changing with whatever scene or moment calls for it. At times playful, at times intense, mostly as friends, but easily as would-be-lovers. Check out a cute video of their wedding photoshoot from episode 5.

  • woah Mrs Koala, you changed your page layout/format heaps :O it looks cool and vintage-ish though :3

  • Omo omo...Koala unni... I like the new format of your blog..:) In another note, I do hope DR will feel something for KY... Few more hours for next episode....

  • Oooh. This is neat. Nice format. Yes, I haven't watched any episode, just reading the recaps so it really weirds me out if Kyung Joon wakes up as Kyung Joon, I mean if his soul goes back to his body and pursues Da Ran but it's clearly the OTP of the story, well as of now at least since Yoon Jae isn't in the picture yet. I'm just so curious how this will unfold...I guess Yoon Jae will soon wake up as he's been in a coma for half of the drama already. It's time that we know his true story really. Thanks for giving us this cute MV!

  • Wow. The new format I mean. It's different. Easier to read the comments. Can't come to your blog without shielding my eyes. Have not started watching Big yet you see :-)

  • Heh, I was just experimenting but I'm not changing formats yet. You guys happened to be around when I unveiled it for a bit. :-)

  • I agree with you, Koala. Their chemistry is very organic. Most of the time they give off the best friends vibe, and yet there's also moments where the tension is so palpable and smoking hot, like that time at the restaurant when KJ pulled DR and pinned her to the wall...RAWR. ;)

  • Thanks Koala,
Im really enjoying being part of this community of Big fans. Its like a little place I come to for the best comfort food! Am having so much fun and thank you for sharing all these snippets of news, recaps and thoughts of this drama.

  • Koala - now you have me thinking....
What if YJ is gay? Would the Hongs be willing to do that? Would the network?
    Naaaaaah!
But, he did hesitate going to SY's aparteu, as well.
She may have been all over him, but he was like whatever the whole time...
There is no evidenced at all to support this, I know.

    • I don't think he is gay either and I'm based on the same premise as you - If he is gay what was he doing in his ex-girlfriend's apartment? And why did he need a key, if he was not having an affair? Why was his ex-girlfriend jealous of Da Ran to the point of throwing Da Ran's photo with Yoon Jae in the trash? The way his ex-girlfriend acted shows us differently, well, that's what I see.

What a coincidence! Yesterday I was checking this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KsjEBJtVjAk and it's about their chemistry off screen. I think they really look sweet together both on and off screen.
