Video Preview for Episode 11 of Big

Kyaaaaa~ I can’t believe there are only six more episodes of Big left! How come KBS gave Bridal Mask an extension and can’t do the same for wuri Big? Yeah yeah, ratings schmatings. Ratings are pffffft in my eyes, as long as the drama makes my heart sing, then I’ll shower it with my love. The picture above is part of newly released stills from episode 11 that show Kyung Jae tying Da Ran’s shoelaces, and the video preview that was just released also show us that Kyung Jae is still firmly in control. I’ll stick with my ending theory for the time being, and I have to say the final conversation in this preview between Da Ran and Yoon Jae’s mom made me so hopeful my girl is taking charge of her heart and paving the way for her to pick Kyung Joon one day. Or so a Koala can hope.

Video preview for episode 11:

Da Ran: Is now the time for you to just watch him smile? (talking to herself)

Choong Shik: Buying the same style of clothes as my noona. Following that haraboji, chasing after him with my brother-in-law, that is all because of Kang Kyung Joon that is laying in the hospital, right?

Mari: Let your mind go blank.

Da Ran: When my heart is affected by you, I keep feeling guilty towards Yoon Jae.

Yoon Jae’s dad: It’s been a long time.

Kyung Jae: Yes, father.

Se Young: Yoon Jae…..everyone appears to have problems. Yoon Jae might experience things in the future that will cause him much turmoil.

Yoon Jae’s mom: Now that I have a daughter-in-law, I saved this up little by little for her.

Da Ran: I have no right to accept this.

Yoon Jae’s mom: Why?

Da Ran: If Yoon Jae returns to who he was before, at that time I will let him go.

  • Oh my! I was just gonna go sleep and I refreshed your page on my iPad. I am so lucky and you are one wonderful angel. Kamsahamnida!!

  • "If Yoon Jae returns to who he was before, at that time I will let him go."

    YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

    PS thanks for the post

    • You called, jomo? I'll raise you one............HELLSSSSSSSSSSSSSYESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

I think people need to let go of the fixation on when Kyung Joon's body will wake up or if Yoon Jae's soul will come back. I love my Shin, but I don't need to see him onscreen narratively. Kyung Joon has been in front of me for 10 episodes, it's "him" whether he's inside his own body or Yoon Jae's body. I wonder if my theory of Yoon Jae's soul being dead is even more likely than I once thought, and the final switch won't happen until the very end. Eh, let my boy sleep, he's a sleeping beauty in my heart anyways. Shin needs to thank Gong Yoo for just taking a great launching pad he set and then rocketing the character into the space of awesome.

I find tons of stuff happening in each episode, and the waking or switching bit hardly evidences the lack of narrative momentum. But then again, I've realized this is a love story more than a soul switch story.

      • Could not agree more that Gong Yoo has done a fantastic acting job . In my opinion, the drama would not be complete without him...one of the best Korean actors around I think.

      • Rrrr Daran is married to Yoon jae's body, and I think she will need more time to get use to Kyung Joon if they ever go back to their own bodies. She used to have KJ in YJ body so she will feel weird if she just go and have and relationship with KJ with his baby face (for me it will more like a wake up call for Daran if KJ ever go back to his own body). So... More likely...... Hopefully....... Finger crossed, KJ remain in YJ's body. After all, he is much better in using YJ's body than the owner himself. Kekekekekekeke........

      • My guess on the ending… I surmise that YoungJae and Kyung Joon became “twin souls” after the switch–meaning they know every sensation the other feels and every thought the other thinks. They have a total connection. The body has become Kyung Joon’s because he has more “energy” than the sick YoungJae’s. Hence, in Jae’s several failed attempts to come back, he was overpowered because Joon’s refusal to give up the body. My guess is even if he, Joon, seemingly and blatantly announces to DaRan that Jae has been attempting a soul swap he is covering up a lie that the soul swap is not succeeding. Why do I say that? Well, he has mentioned being in a lot of pain and being sapped in energy, which to me means he is fighting off , with his might, some force. Joon still wants to stay because he is in love for the first time. He hurts and pains, though, when he sees DaRan appearing to be in want of Jae instead of him or so he thinks.

I think the final soul swap rests with Joon; if he does not fight off the swap, then Jae will return. At the end, if it will be Jae’s decision, to allow Joon to rule over his body and for him to cease living. Since my assumption is both have become twin souls, then Jae knows everything that is happening anyway. Though, it saddens me to realize that one of them should die we cannot help it if, indeed, BIG is all about salvation being love and sacifice as mentioned by that professor in the episode we have seen last.

I see an extravagantly emotionally me at the end of BIG… crying over Jae at the end. Regardless, I would have learned to fall in love with DaRan and Joon then….

  • Ah! Thanks for sharing the preview! I can't wait for Monday.

Have you seen Bridal Mask? It's a pretty good drama or I may just think that because Jo won is Gaksital. It's my midweek crack along with Ghost.

    • I've heard mixed things about BM, but most everyone I know likes it. It's not for me. I'm sorry to say but I really do not like Joo Won. I find him strange looking (in an unattractive way), but that just means more Joo Won for everyone who loves him. :-D

      • koala sis... i had been hibernating from comments because of so much RL... but reading your post here.... i was amazed you are not one of those who like Joo Won. :(

      • Hahaha, I never claim to have tastes that skew towards the majority. But even I'm baffled by how much I don't like Joo Won, as opposed to just being indifferent to him. I dunno, he just rubs me the wrong way, looks and acting.

      • Don't like Joo Won either ! He appears to be thinking more about himself than the character he plays. Best type of role for him is still the secondary lead with evil heart, he doesn't need to act, he has this odd dubious, sneaky look - don't know why. Also the other brother - shih hyun jun.....double whammy ! Both of them irks me the wrong way. Can't shake off SHJ's character from long ago - Stairwell to Heaven as the clingly guy who pretended to be brother to stay with the girl - so yucks !

      • I like Joo Won in Baker King & Ojak Brothers but BM just not an attractive story. Tried but just not able to waste my time on it............. Love BIG !!!

  • Aw Man! Looks like they are going to drag it out this week again with no switch. So disappointed but glad D finally decided, apparently.

    • THIS.

If YJ dies without ever coming back and explaning himself, I'll hate this drama and be disappointed.

      • I just thought of this... You know how we NEVER saw YJ and DR together in the present? Only flashbacks and phone conversations?

Well, this was on purpose - so we don't put them together in our hearts, but also because it would be THAT much more difficult for us to envision Gong Yu as the younger KJ with Daran. We would never be sure WHO we saw in the shell of YJ.
Based on this, I am guessing we won't see YJ again with DR in the present.
We will prolly see YJ and KJ. To me, that would be more satisfying than reuniting a done and over couple of fiances.
I can see how folks want closure on his story, but he was meant to be left in the past. He was never going to be part of DR's future.
He's soooo Episode 1, you know?
We may find something YJ wrote and hear his voice reading it, though.

      • Yeah, it would rank pretty high on my most hated list if that happened. From what I am reading on boards and blogs, this whole YJ situation is bothering a lot of people and dragging it out forever is not helping.

  • LOL! That was exactly my thought too, Sonia! We have a whole lot of nothing happening again this week? (although previews are SO misleading so I never trust them anymore)
    Thanks for the clip!

  • I love this preview so much. Things are finally starting to look up for our KJ. Looks like DR has finally realized that at the end she would like to be with him:) and sorry YJ but, yay! She wants to let you go *does a little dance*

It's going to be a good week!

      • LGY is up there, for sure. Have to put my vote there, and I am one of the people that LIKED that show. (Not the end.)

      • LOLZ! I actually like Daran - she is the exact amount of cute and blurblob-ness I can accept. Plus she really has a lot going on for her to handle in this show - emotionally. I think viewers are too harsh with the women leads generally. For me DR and KJ together make me smile like a dolt endlessly.

    • *arched brows* Really? You've watched hundreds of K-dramas enough to back up that assertion?

I like Da Ran. She's not the lead, that would be Gong Yoo as Kyung Joon, but she is believably real as girl who just doesn't believe she's good enough. But in Kyung Joon's eyes, she's always been perfect just the way she is, and then some.

    • She's the worst Korean drama heroine because she's flawed like a real human being? In my opinion, a character deserving of that title would be someone who has very little development in character and in story. Da Ran has not only grown from the first episode, but she has learned to take responsibility (especially for herself.) A bad character isn't someone you personally think is annoying or doesn't fit the bill of how a woman should act. Da Ran isn't a one dimensional character. You think she's spineless, but she surprises you in many situations. You think she's too moony over Yoon Jae, but she moves on from him and realizes that she loves someone else. She's actually got more self-awareness than most characters out there who are clueless until it's too late.

  • I'm getting married in 7days and i can't stop thinking about gong yoo and this drama oh gosh help me :(

    • Haha! I know right?? I keep having to look at my husband to tell him I LOVE him and then continue to drool over GY;)

  • I only want kyung joon happy. I don't care much bout anything else right now. Please give him one episode at least of unadulterated happiness... Pleaaasssee
