Long Preview for Final Episode 11 of Rich Man, Poor Woman

Yeah, that’s the very look on my face when I think about/watch Rich Man, Poor Woman. All good things must come to an end, and with the release of the final long preview for RMPW (complete with the words “LAST EPISODE” flashing before my eyes) I know it’s time to gather up my scattered thoughts and affection for this drama so I can steel myself for its ending. Will it be happiness for our OTP, brilliant genius emotional idiot Hyuga and whip smart full of doubt Makoto? Or will it be some sort of ending that will result in my throwing things at the computer screen and shouting expletives not fit for the ears of most human beings? I know RMPW aggravates me and I complain loudly when it stumbles on plot and character development, but really that’s because I love it so. For a drama that I merely like, I would accept its limitations and not ask for more. But I freaking love this dorama, and with that comes a genuine fond hope that it could deliver more.

I wished we did have more episodes, not necessarily anything like a Season 2 or even an SP, but that this current story arc could be fleshed out more. I needed to see more why Asahina turned to the dark side, I wanted to see Hyuga go through more obstacles before learning some difficult lessons, and I desperately want more open affection between the OTP before the final few minutes of episode 11 rolls around. Watching the latest long preview gives me hope that the ending will at least be satisfying, since Hyuga does appear to catch Makoto at the airport. Btw, an airport scene? My god this dorama seriously thinks it’s a K-drama! I’m going to try my best to keep myself occupied for the next few days so I don’t wear a hole in the carpet from pacing around aimlessly waiting for time to pass and Monday to roll around. Of course, a marathon of the first 10 episodes does sound mighty tempting right about now.

Long preview for final episode of RMPW – watch on Youku.

Press conference: I am the newly returned to Next Innovation Acting President, Hyuga Toru.

Hyuga: Please complete the personal file project………give me 50 billion yen.

Old dude: If it doesn’t have value, we won’t provide the money.

Hyuga: When we started working, we were thinking of people important to us. For those people, let’s work again here!

Asahina: What are you doing? (as he stares at a newspaper article about Hyuga returning to NI and its facing bankruptcy)

Makoto’s friend: If you want to see him, you can see him tomorrow.

Makoto: If I see him, I won’t want to work hard anymore.

Hyuga: The next new innovation will come from you.

(Makoto’s next job assignment has been moved to Brazil)

Makoto: I like Hyuga Toru so much its so painful, so I’m saying goodbye.

Yoko: Are you an idiot? Why don’t you tell her how you feel about her?

Makoto: Doesn’t matter if its Brazil or anywhere else, I’m going.

Hyuga: Fine, you can go by yourself.

Hyuga: Didn’t you promise to always answer my calls? Stand there and don’t you dare move!
