F4 Purportedly to Reunite and Perform for 2013 Chinese Lunar New Year Celebration

Super duper rich Chinese network say what?!?! OMG, I figured this wouldn’t happen for another five years or so but it’s actually happening in mere weeks. The C-news is reporting that after years of trying to reunite F4 (also known as JVKV) for China’s largest lunar new year television program, they actually succeeded by throwing so much money at Jerry Yan, Vic Zhou, Ken Zhu, and Vanness Wu that the four guys are going to perform one of their seminal songs “Meteor Rain” in the upcoming 2013 lunar new year celebration. The song is of course from the TW-drama that propelled them to fame Meteor Garden (1 and 2) which was the first of many drama adaptations of the manga Hana Yori Dango. The leading lady was Barbie Hsu but let’s not lie and say we all watched it for her. She was good but I was pretty much a goner for both Jerry’s version of hot blooded Domouji (Dao Ming Shi) and Vic’s version of autistic and introverted Hanazawa Rui (Hua Ze Lei). F4 was the group that was formed by the four guys who played the drama version of F4 and they were actually quite popular all over Asia. The last time the boys reunited was in 2009 for their Japanese sold-out tour but since then everyone has gone their own ways. I won’t lie and say they are real life BFFs and keep in touch, because they really don’t. But they did get along when they were active as F4. Since then Vic as emerged as the thespian and most high profile actor, Jerry takes on too few projects and is still coasting on his fame rather than doing anything new, Ken is sorta just there, and Vanness had the most extreme transformation from sleazy douchebag to born-agan Christian and earnest actor/singer. If this new is true I AM SO EXCITED. My Vic, singing again as part of F4, it’s too good to be true. I’m going to go watch F4 videos to prepare for the nostalgia.

    • Mine too. Vic is my fav Rui, a tie between Matsumoto and LMH for DJ and the Japanese Makino was the best!!!!!!
F4 ....overall .....TW the best because they had the best chemistry with each other.
I was so happy when I heard the Koreans were doing their version but what a disappointment it turned out to be. Jandi was annoying and I couldn't imagine how GJP would prefer her to LMJ's awesome character....I forget the name.

  • LOLs.. then i got my 'own drama' called reply me 2002!

even my fave one is Japanese-F4, but i do like this Taiwanese-F4, thanks for the videos, i miss their era.. i meant, when everything about F4 and MG were soooooo amazing... :)

  • Excited.. but in a way.. not sure... ? maybe because we're so used to see them not together.. I hope it is good regardless!

  • I can't get past Jerrry's blue pants and Zai Zai's blue hair. Who told them this was a good idea?

Besides that, I can't wait to tell my daughter about this! We'll definitely be watching. These guys were her first introduction to dramas and she's a die hard Vic fan like her mama. Bring on the new year!

  • Wow, this is amazing! Back in 2005, as I was surfing thru the TV channels, a chinese drama caught my attention and I watched the whole episode not understanding a word. The lead was a really, really hot guy and I loved his Kimutaku style mane. But then that was it. I wasn't able to watch any other episodes and didn't know how to search for it without knowing the title of the drama or any of it's actors. Then a few days ago, dramacrazy posted the drama "MARS" with Vic Zhou. I read the synopsis and suddenly fireworks had gone off in my brain and I was like, this is it! This is it! It amazes me how Mrs. Koala picks up topics that are current events for me. I hope you will allow me to fantasize with "your Vic". Thank you and have a happy new year!

  • OMG they are really my first love. suddenly I remember about fangirling them when I was 13. it's been a long time. actually if I can say they were opening the chinisewave and hallyu wave in my country. since then C-drama, dorama, n K-drama are really booming until now...

  • jerry is my favourite :3 he's the best! <3 i really enjoyed Down With Love although it's not the best out there, it's like my comfort drama when i need to laugh and swoon over a guy.

  • AHH! I gotta say, I was crazy for Zai Zai back in the days. :) Though, I'm still a fan of his, I have to admit, I like Jerry/Dao Ming Si after rewatching the drama so many times. :P F4 and meteor garden was definitely a good part of my childhood memories. haha.

  • Jerry was always my favorite of the four ... Not even sure why, maybe cause I like those who play those bad boy roles. While these guys are still older than me, it's starting to get close to the same age range so I wasn't ever too crazy over them... As I thought they were a little overrated but idol drama - this is the golden one and the first one that kicked off all the rest. I love Harlem's theme song and humming it now :) too cute!! I do own both sets of mg so I still loved watching them especially mg 1. Having said all of that, they really must have thrown a lot of money their way but seriously I am certain that I will watch it at some point in time.

Thanks capt k for the news. I love reunions!!! I can't pass them up.
