Burberry Features Yoon Eun Hye, Yoo Ah In, and Lee Hyori in The Art of the Trench

I have a dozen coats of varying lengths, cuts, and materials hanging in a Winter closet just waiting for the day I decide to move to a cold locale. Or maybe when I go crazy one morning and decide to pluck one out and wear it where I live, maybe paired with a pair of classic Uggs and transform into either a chic housewife with sensory deprivation or else someone who hasn’t done laundry in one year and therefore is down to the last coat hanging. In all honesty, I miss living somewhere with distinct seasonal changes and the chance to wear well-tailored fashionable Winter attire. My Burberry trench is now a dust magnet but when I did have chance to wear it I actually didn’t don it often. I think I like the concept of the trench much more then actually modeling one. For the October issue of Grazia magazine, the fashion house outfitted Yoon Eun Hye, Yoo Ah In, and Lee Hyori in different styles of its iconic trench to launch an exhibit called The Art of the Trench. I actually laughed at that, since the genesis of the trench coat is as a lightweight alternative rain coat (to the heavy duty worsted wool serge greatcoats) work by British and French soldiers in WWI, and I’m not sure Burberry wants to be reminding fashionistas that the trench was really just a bona fide military rain coat. Regardless of its genesis, the design and functionality of the trench is undeniable and I actually love when it’s perfectly used by a costume designer in a movie when the character or scene calls for it. Of course all three Korean entertainers picked by Burberry rock their trenches perfectly – Yoon Eun Hye shows off the classic khaki belted double-breast short trench with her mile long legs, Yoo Ah In brings the hipster attitude to the oiled leather trench with an multi-use collar, and Lee Hyori goes casual playful by pairing an open long beige trench with leather accents with tight jeans and Chucks. They wear their trenches rather than the other way around and it’s nice to juxtapose frumpy Na Mi Rae from Marry Him If You Dare with fashionable Yoon Eun Hye.

  • Yoon Eun Hye has a really gorgeous body. Really rockin' that trench coat! She's not too think either -- which is how i like it.

  • You can wear your trench coat to travel. I love to wear mine in airports. Airports and airplanes seem always so cold.

  • Koala,

As a Seattle girl I own and wear many a trench. But I grew up in SoCal and I always felt I was missing out on seasons. So I know how you feel. I agree all three are rocking their coats.

  • I can't remember the last time I wore my trench coat (a wee bit longer than YEH's) so t I dashed to the closet and there it was! Time to drag it out and wear when I'm walking the cat here in NYC.

  • All three are looking good but I just checked out Burberry's website and the cheapest trench coat was $1500, Ouch! I think I'll be stinking with London Fog.

  • Dayum, YEH's legs are gorgeous lol. Just the first thing I saw. Love her coat, not so much YAI's - it's one of those coats that I'd cringe if my boyfriend ever wears.

  • YEH rocks this trench. She looks fantastic. If only I could rock a trench coat like that. I am wearing one right now and love it although it's not a Burberry. Love her legs. Beautiful.

    Thanks koala for sharing.

I have all 4 seasons here but I really do not like the bitter cold, dead of winter. It's so cold here.

    • Agree. They look like they have been styled by an amateur. As gorgeous as YEH may be with those long stems, that's a very predictable overdone look. Hyori looks ridiculous with those shoes. All three of them look like they are trying too hard. Usually Grazia is very fashion forward but these scream wannabe fashionistas.
