It’s sad the writing for Marry Him If You Dare (Mirae’s Choice) has been confusing and lackluster. It’s not bad, per se, just oddly jarring and premised on keeping the audience in the dark as to motivations. I actually think the characters are all well constructed, but the development of the characters have taken a back seat to future Mi Rae’s machinations and the mystery behind what tanked Mi Rae and Shin’s marriage down the road. I fear that the lack of rom or com in this supposed rom-com will continue until the very end, leaving the audience with a story but no well-earned satisfaction. Who’s going to care that all the problems have been resolved when the characters haven’t won our hearts. I’ve loved Lee Dong Gun and his Kim Shin from the outset, but I’ve grown quite fond of Se Joo and Jung Yong Hwa‘s performance in the last few episodes. He’s settled into the role and there is now a relaxed delivery and less self-conscious emoting and dialogue reading. His scenes with grandma Miranda are the best and do most to showcase his improvement as an actor. And he has improved, not by leaps and bounds, by a very solid step forward. I also love his scenes with Yoo Kyung, and I have faith those two will end up together and it’ll be satisfying to watch. I am concerned about the conflict between Shin and Se Joo which takes on duel layers of being romantic rivals and different style colleagues at work. Except Se Joo is the boss (soon), and Shin has to either pick his heart or his future. Looks like he picks his heart at the end of episode 10 when he announces to the team that he likes Mi Rae, which leaves me curious how Mi Rae will respond. Will she continue being true to her heart like she said to Shin earlier? Will Se Joo start to look into what Yoo Kyung means to him and what he really feels for Mi Rae? I think MHIYD has lots of room for great narrative development in the remaining six-episodes, I’m just fingers-crossed it’ll deliver. For now, let’s enjoy some gorgeous pictures of the two male leads. When Shin puts his hair down he seriously looks like Se Joo’s identical but older brother. LOL if there’s a birth secret twist in this drama with the two guys.

im a huge yonghwa fan and i adore shinhye, i watch all his dramas but most of the boices acknowledged that hearstrings execution of script is not good but as a a fan of course we took hearstrings is golden in our heart especially all the hardships that the casts endured that time. yonghwa almost never sleep during that timeline, he just finished we got married, he just finished inkigayo mc, he just finished night after night mc, he promoted intuition in all broadcasting company, the writer/director left in the middle of filming, cnblue is preparing the major debut in japan, he composes numerous songs during that filming. that of course for me hearstrings is precious but NO, he wasnt that good. ive seen bts of yonghwa photoshoot in this drama and i saw him trying to open his eyes, probably one of the reasons why i think he lacks in acting in this drama

Based from the stills looks like mirae will finally say no to sejoo. Hopefully it happen. The writer should stop dragging the love triangle its not working anymore, its already been dead. 6 eps left and still so many unanswered questions. And please show some sejoo and yookyung flahbook too. And agree with u koala, yonghwa said he enjoyed filming the most with miranda maybe thats why its most entertaining to watch

I've dropped MC around ep 7 because God knows Ive tried liking both miraes and it has been pretty impossible. I wish we had more scenes of the second leads together. Maybe if this ends well for them, I'll return.
I noticed a long time ago that they look like brothers and they are both in the same agency too.

Yonghwa fan here. Honestly, I'm only watching this now for the second lead OTP, I really like YooKyung's character and I don't want SeJoo to end up with MiRae.. And I'm warming up to Shin's character now but I just can't stand Mirae's character, I don't even want Shin to end up with someone like that :s So far her present and future self really suck lol.
And from what I've seen in the forums most YH fans are are cheering for SJ+YK.
you don't want sejoo ends with mirae because if this drama were well written that won't happend .but we don't know maybe crazy korean fans are in the same possition like you . because they can't permit jyh looks like a looser they forget that in a drama he's not jyh is an actor .

No, I don't want him to end up with Mirae not because I don't want him to look like a looser but because his side story with YooKyuong is far more interesting than with Mirae. You have to admit that there are plenty flaws in Mirae's character. I'm a fan of Yonghwa, yes but I'm also a fan of EunHye (I've mentioned this in previous recaps too) and I just can't stand that she had to play this type of character. Also, I'm not a biased fan since I started watching this I knew he was second lead and I've enjoyed watching LDG (he is quite the eye candy) but his character had a lot of flaws and it hasn't been until the last couple of episodes that we are getting to see a deeper side of him, before that he just kept looking like an egotistical asshole who would throw water at a girl and curse at whoever disagreed with him. People cheering for the second leads has nothing to do with them being fangirls but there was/is a serious lack of development in the story line between the main leads, which might also be the reason for the low ratings. Again, I'm just talking about their characters and story not about the actors, Eun Hye and Dong Gun are senior actors that are beyond Yonghwa's acting experience and he is lucky to have gotten a chance to work with both, I even read a MHIYD staff account that YH had been following LDG a lot even staying for the filming of scenes that he wasn't part of just to observe their acting.
Anyway seriously, this type of comments are just getting old. The fangirls moved on already, how about you people do too, and let's all try to enjoy what is left of the drama instead of accusing everyone of being a crazy fangirl just because they see the flaws with the story?

Eh, Shin threw water in episode 2 and hasn't cursed in I don't even remember how many episodes? Shin has had a lot of depth the whole drama, starting early in the drama with the story about his father. Did you skip most of his scenes or something? Actually the last couple of episodes have been the worst in character growth for nearly every character other than YK so I seriously don't know what you are talking about. When you say things like that I can't take you seriously.
@melissa He threw water at her, he gets mad at whoever contradicts him or curses them out, he threw a tantrum when he saw her at SeJoo's confession and didn't even let her talk, then kind of insulted her during his argument with SeJoo. I get it that there is more to him and slowly we are getting the "sweet" gestures of him but so far it's been more negative than positive, maybe the writer does want us to cheer for FMR as to why she shouldn't marry Shin? I don't know, I just find SeJoo and YooKyung's story more tragic because they are like the third party victims, that had nothing to do with the original couple but their love story got interrupted because Mirae was unhappy with hers, thus my reason for cheering for them.
No, I haven't skipped any scenes and you don't have to take my opinion seriously if you don't want to, it is merely my opinion but you should at least respect someone else's right to have an opinion and not just dismiss them as fangirls. I have not disrespected any of the four actors and whatever I have commented on has been solely based on the story/characters.

This drama will be more interesting if the OTP works on their problems so they can change their future together. Obviously they still love each other. Na Mirae and Se Joo scenes are so boring and I'm sure I'm not the only one who skipped them. The only reason I'm still watching is Yoo Kyung.

In the early start of the drama they were fun to watch, but after his confession and her obvious rejection it's been same old, same old. Whatever little romantic chemistry they had is gone.
I know that they have to have workplace drama, like the fake wine stakeout, but I wish the writers would spend more time working on the romance angle of the show. Let's see some kisses!
I cannot believe that as a YEH fan, I've decided to drop the drama. I heard she was offered SECRET and she refused it. This writer is driving me nuts and I cannot stand future Mirae. I hope YEH chooses better next time.
