Written Preview for Episode 10 of In A Good Way

The written previews are usually pretty straightforward when it comes to In A Good Way, revealing enough to whet my appetite but keeping a bit under wraps to surprise me when the actual episode airs. Reading the just released written preview for episode 10 got me super excited because it sounds cute, funny, and rather important to a lot of narrative development. We left off in episode 9 with Liu Chuan picking up the bait thrown down by Jia En and claiming he’s not the guy who Bai Xue likes because that would mean he also likes Jia En. But more importantly, it would mean he’s off limits for Jia En to like back because she’s a girl who fairly radiates the female version mantra of “bros before hos”. We all agree? She’s never going to like a guy who Bai Xue likes because it would be too painful a rift in their friendship. I’m pretty certain the drama will have Bai Xue moving on from her unrequited Liu Chuan crush at some point, but an even better development is if Bai Xue genuinely gives Jia En the go ahead to like any guy even if he’s the one in question. Bai Xue also seems like that kind of girl, and in episode 9 she was just in the throes of an emotional rejection and thus blurted out what she said to Jia En.

My big worry is that Ren Wei will move on from Bai Xue sooner than she’ll move on from Liu Chuan. I’m still mulling over in my head whether Ren Wei and Bai Xue are a good fit besides they actually enjoy each other’s company as friends. I can list a million reasons why Liu Chuan and Jia En make every sense in the world, but brainy Bai Xue and dopey Ren Wei still feels like a major stretch other than as a rebound for her. I’m probably asking for trouble by welcoming the possibility of Ren Wei liking Jia En since it’s not like I’m ever going to jump from the Liu Chuan ship. I just sorta want to see how the drama will deal with that change in Ren Wei and Jia En’s friendship, because honestly it’s likelier than not that a male-female platonic friendship from childhood at some point deals with an adult question of “Do I now like you that way?” I think even if Ren Wei likes Jia En at some point, I trust the drama can explore that possibility without tanking their charming friendship in the process. Thus far IAGW hasn’t let me down in any way and I’m looking forward to what’s in store for episode 10. It also appears Momo plays a major role in this episode and the more Momo is always the more merrier I say.

Written preview for episode 10:

Jia En’s last day…….

The midterm report for Jia En’s philosophy class requires her to practice saying goodbye to people. Jia En practices with her dad and the two of them are bathed in tears, and he even eats the sesame oil fried egg Jia En made for Liu Chuan!

Bai Xue also works on her midterm report to breakthrough her own fear of heights. She also breaks through the awkwardness with Jia En and their friendship grows even closer. Ren Wei realizes that he’s just a supporting character and can’t sleep at night, going to find Jia En to share his woes. Of course a one-sided romance is very bitter but Jia En really hits the nail on the head and explains why Ren Wei and Bai Xue aren’t suited for each each. So what kind of girl is Ren Wei suited for? Jia En talks and talks and then Ren Wei stares at Jia En. Could it be…..?

Bad bad Momo! He eats the sesame oil fried egg lunch box Jia En made for Liu Chuan, and then chews up the paper toy she folded for him as well. Liu Chuan tries desperately to repair it, and what he needs to repair isn’t just the toy but also his feelings….

Jia En faces a big problem, for justice, for love, go crazy!

    • Wouldn't we all.... though all we would see is a lot of people's feet.

I also can't figure out why Jia En is Momo's jiejie (older sister) while Liu Chuan is his baba (daddy) because there is a generational discrepancy going on somewhere.

  • Excited! Well I was already excited because the YG Family World Tour notice that just dropped but now I'm more excited

  • I've realised how over the years koala has been the one single-handedly influencing my drama choices, be it k-dramas, t-dramas or c-dramas and am eternally grateful for that day Google first directed me here for I cannot remember what. My homepage has been KP for so long I cannot live a day without refreshing this page...

Cheers through d years! Thanks for your dedication <3

    • Totally agree. Reads through her recaps or recommendations before trying out new dramas.

Thank you very much for your fantastic review and recommendations!!

  • I haunt this page every Friday just waiting for the preview to drop. This show just makes my Saturday mornings.

  • I love seeing the characters have this kind of awareness about the situation they're in. We get too many dramas with possessive male characters who never stop to think about what their love interest really wants or if they're even compatible in the first place.
It's strange to see the characters actually come to understand some of the underlying problems they're facing, it's almost alien to the rules of dramaland sometimes.

  • Koala-Unni,

Can you tell me what the sign they're holding says?

I'm so excited for this episode; I can't wait to see Liu Chuan's feelings really get displayed in this episode--and it will all be thanks to Momo!

  • How will they manage to fit all that sweetness into one episode?!
I am counting down till i get home from work late tonight to watch...

Saying good-bye always gets me. Always. IRL and on shows.

I remember the first time listening to Patty Lovelace's song "How Can I Help You to Say Good-bye" on my way home from work, and I had to pull the car over because of the tears. The video here is very dated, so you could just listen.
