I love Moon Geun Young but never feel terribly sad when she takes long breaks between acting projects, or even when she chooses dud dramas. She’s got a life outside of acting and a smart level head on her shoulders so I figure she’s happy doing whatever else when there’s a long time between hearing of her return to acting. Being a renowned child actress is so hard, skipping the rising part of the career and hitting the big leagues so young, it takes a lot more work to keep a high flying career continuously high flying.
Her last drama was the abominably stupid and dull sageuk Goddess of Fire Jungyi two years ago, and aside from doing the sageuk movie Sado slated for release later this year, I haven’t heard a peep about a return to drama land. Until now, and the news is a big one to boot! Moon Geun Young has received the offer for Chaebol’s Daughter (True Romance) airing on SBS Mon-Tues, which is also courting Park Seo Joon for the male lead. Industry insiders had mentioned Han Groo being in talks for the drama but it might now appear it was for the second female lead role. I don’t even care who gets the rest of the roles in this drama, if Moon Geun Young is in then I am not missing it for the world.
Earlier this year Moon Geun Young was in Japan to promote the Japanese airing of GoF and with it comes two more photo spreads published exclusively in Japanese entertainment magazines. Super duper love how gorgeous she looks, this is my favorite hairstyle on her by far. Moon Geun Young’s role in Chaebol’s Daughter is the youngest child of a chaebol family who hides her identity and becomes a supermarket clerk in order to find true love without strings attached. Ooh I like this development! Han Groo would've been great too and tbh I'm a little disappointing she's regressing back to second lead roles, I think she should just jump back to the vampire drama with LJK now. The reason I really like the idea of MGY doing this drama is that it kinda sorta reminds me of Cinderella's Sister where I fell in love with her and she even has the same hair she had in the beginning of that show. Man I can't believe it's been five year since that drama ended.

Han Groo doesn't exactly have the chance to jump back to the vampire drama. It wasn't her choice to bow out.
Just because someone theorised that MBC rescinded their offer doesn't mean they actually did. People are acting like that's a fact...
@kitai - people are not acting at all. MBC themselves told the media Han Groo wasn't right for the part. Why is it so hard for people to believe that a network will kick out an actor for not being famous enough? They do it all the time.
What came out was that Han Groo declined the offer. MBC didn't tell the media that she wasn't right. And obviously MBC didn't kick her out because she's not famous enough, or they wouldn't have given her the offer in the first place.
I love Moon Geun Young. I can't wait to see her back in the small screen. And yes, love her with the long hair.

Moon Geun Young is ridiculously talented but her choice of dramas is appalling.
Oh I like her. I'll check this out if I have time, since it's not my first option. There are so many interesting dramas coming up it's hard to choose just a few.

Is she known for other things apart from her acting? Like Gu Hye Sun has her directing,painting and writing career apart from her acting. (I'm not commenting about her success in those fields,just her participation),but i don't remember hearing about MGY anything apart from her acting.
Anyways,i hope this drama has a good story and production because i'm really liking the cast so far.
