Best Friends Zhao Wei and Huang Xiaoming Finally Make a Movie Together in Hollywood Adventures

Looks like cross-border collaborations are increasing in other ways beyond China-Korea. The Chinese summer box office will include a wacky road trip movie helmed by a Hollywood production team but starring three top Chinese stars as leads. Marking the first time real life best friends of 20 years Zhao Wei and Huang Xiaoming worked together onscreen, the two are joined by C-actor Tong Dawei for a fish-out-of-water film called Hollywood Adventures. The posters are cute, the three leads appear to have thoroughly enjoyed the filming experience, and the trailer (below) has lots of bang bang and laughs aplenty.

Zhao Wei plays a shyster travel agent based in LA who tries to cons two bumbling Chinese dudes played by Huang Xiaoming and Tong Dawei when they arrive in LA to live their Hollywood dreams. Best part of the entire set-up? Zhao Wei revealed during the movie press conference that she and Xiaoming have a kiss scene, joking that the kiss ended Xiaoming’s 20 long year dream to finally kiss her. Ahahaha, I’m so glad they can joke about this even with her having a husband and him having an Angelababy. I’m so going to check this out just to see what the chemistry is like onscreen.
