I’m so psyched for upcoming SBS drama High Society it’s not even funny. Sure all my early enthusiasm sets myself up for a high likelihood of disappointment, but this drama wasn’t even on my radar initially so this gradual interest in it strikes me as less fangirling and more drama enthusiast reacting to something potentially awesome. Leads UEE, Sung Joon, Park Hyung Sik, and Lim Ji Yeon aren’t the usual Hallyu suspects that get all the viewer attention but that’s a good thing, it allows the drama to be judged on its own merits rather than having ardent fans of a certain actress or actor hijack drama discussions with blinders on affection.
I really like what I see from all four leads so far, especially Lim Ji Yeon, who I an calling out not because she’s more impressive than her costars (she isn’t) but because I was so turned off by her after erotic K-movie The Obsessed it’s shocking to find her charming and fun to watch in her first drama role. If even the sole weak link in the main cast looks decent to me, I think High Society has a good chance of tickling all my drama happy nodes come next Monday. The twenty-something cast looked age-appropriate and stylish at the press conference this week but the high light was checking out the fantastic 13-minute long preview.

Given the ending song, I wish they had closed the preview with one of those teaser kisses!
Lol at the ripped shirt scene. But isn't 13 minutes too long for a preview?
I am really looking forward to this. The trailer looked great -- less melo, more fun -- which I'm hoping will be the tone of the series. I think I'm going to get all the melo I could want from Mask.
I hope it doesn't turn out too dramatic.. I'm liking the dynamic of the four leads. I can enjoy the crossed love lines freely knowing that the end game has two sets of OTPs.
I'm really excited for this drama. Park Hyung Sik looks too damn good it's distracting. His hair is on point. jjang!
Lim ji yeon is beautiful !!
I'm sorry but what did UEE do to her face? While watching the trailer i keep getting distracted and my brain keep saying "nose nose nose damn nose"
I'm so going to watch this as there is no despicable second lead. So there!
Looks like Park hyung sik's character is more interesting than Sung joon's character.
Still cannot get over how attractive and good looking this whole cast is. Plus I have to agree with you koala! Cast is age-appropriate and with minimal 'hallyu' attention by viewers means more surprise if this drama does really good. Cannot wait!
Park Hyung Sik looks hella hawt! I seem to like his character better through this preview as well!
