The next KBS Mon-Tues drama Moorim School has been filming for some time now so it’s no surprise that the first batch of promos look very sleek and put together. The drama takes over for Oh My Venus and starts the second week of January 2016, turning the dial from weight loss romance to martial arts high school students from various corners of the world. Starring Lee Hyun Woo, Seo Ye Ji, Eugene Jung, and Hong Bin, the cast doesn’t boast of any well known leads other than Lee Hyun Woo, but then again plenty of big name dramas have fallen flat on its face in recent years so the fresh-faced nature of this cast could work in its favor to creative a cohesive fantasy world of sorts where kids go to school not only to grow up but also to learn kickass martial arts skills. I do wonder if this particular story and setup wouldn’t have better suited being a C-drama, and has rather manga-esque elements that J-doramas do so well with the off beat nature. I won’t second guess anything until the drama arrives, and for now it looks interesting enough to be worth a look see.

The teaser looked terrible. Seems this drama is looking for the "Heirs" type ratings and hallyu profits, and so in the end it might not even matter, whether its good or not.
it gives c-drama feels..speaking of oh my venus wow it gotten so better this week! the chemistry is on fire1! this is my new k-drama addiction after SGG
I really think this will flop. Not every director is Stephen Chow. You put martial arts into a show 9 out of 10 times they turn into disasters.
Why am I having Avatar: The Last Airbender flashbacks? Gosh, that movie was awful.
This got me excited to be honest. Ain't everyday where k-dramaland releases these type of martial arts dramas. I hope it'll be good. Will watch for LHW though.
The main leads are not as well known as Hallyu stars. But after watching their dramas even as second leads, I really like Hyun Woo and Ye Ji. I repeatedly saying I hate over-acting MUCH more than underwhelming performance and I do mean it. Given nowadays K actors/actresses have fetish to be exaggerating to grab attention of viewers, I really appreciate these two young talents for their modest expression and how disciplined they are to deliver emotions. But I'm not sure if I'll have time to watch this drama since I'm not the one for school drama even this seems a fantasy one. Now my attention is diverted to C and Taiwanese dramas after watching Nirvana in Fire and my spare time is fully occupied by the genres. LOL..will just read Koala's blog for any K entertainment update. Have to cool down my frustration with K dramas for a while.
I totally agree with you! I hate overacting too! Not only is it bad, it's also really annoying. I don't know if this will be good or not, but I hope it will be because I like this type of drama and I think there should be more of them in K-Drama land. (After all, practice makes perfect, right?)
Rarely is a fantasy drama filmed in K entertainment. C entertainment has been really skillful in the genres for decades and able to film fantasy really beautifully. Still have to wait to see if K drama can be at par with C fantasy.
Seriously I can't wait
