I’m perplexed by perennial prime time ratings loser KBS, not because it keeps failing to win audiences over, but by how it chooses to schedule the types of dramas that have proven to have a limited appeal. I can count on one hand how many teen and school-based dramas have succeeded in recent years, and will need hands and feet to count the ones that have failed, with many airing on KBS.
Currently airing Mon-Tues drama Oh My Venus bores me to death, not because it’s bad but because the characterizations and chemistry is flaccid, and the ratings aren’t anything to write home about despite having Shin Mina and So Ji Sub as leads. It’s even more concerning with Moorim School takes over that time slot on January 11th, with a bunch of newbies and only a few recognizable names and faces in leads Lee Hyun Woo and Seo Ye Ji. I actually chuckled at the teaser preview because of how earnest and kitschy it looks, making it worth checking out for the unintentional laughs.

Is it a martial arts school?
Why does everything released from this drama, look so low budget? I actually think this drama might surprise and pull a Heirs type mindcluck, and do well. Heirs was nothing to write home about, but did well, because it brought the pretty. On the other hand, this might just as well fail, because viewers have shown they are looking for meatier dramas these days.
KBS really suffering from low ratings for their primetime dramas. But they win in daily dramas. I think it's good strategy to give low budget for primetime dramas and move to focus on daily dramas instead.
This drama might turn something hit or maybe KBS try to create new trend of being youth dramas station since MBC and SBS win over makjang and other genre of dramas already.
I think Oh My Venus is a good show and the leads have chemistry, I guess to each their own. Anyway, I'll give this one a shot. It doesn't look half so bad.
Didn't they say this was going to be some grandiose project? They made it sound like you would see the money on the screen but so far this looks cheap and the teasers make you wanna watch for a laugh indeed. Who knows, but it generally does not get better. Second leads can go either way but I find Seo Yeji deeply uninteresting and lacking charisma, she kind of always gives this odd one out vibe. There does not seem to be a lot of chemistry as well with LHW so it would be good if they kept to the friendship/action thingie. Hopefully it's not about just this quadrangle, since the rest of the cast has quite some appeal. Maybe rookies but at least they look energetic, which is what is expected of this type of drama.
This feels like Zhongji Yi Ban to me
This reminds me of C drama Tornado Girl. But no comparison. TG got me hooked up with drama of young blood again and I got to know my new crush Yang Yang through the drama. LOL...But how the heck does Hyun Woo look like that? He looked more charming with the usual boyish haircut.
