There’s been a niggling visual sense of deja vu with upcoming MBC Wed-Thurs drama Lucky Romance. It brings back many reminders of MBC’s unexpected buzzy rom-com last year She Was Pretty, and it’s not just due to both dramas airing on the same network and having the same leading lady in Hwang Jung Eum. She’s sporting the same very short sleek haircut as her second female lead Go Jun Hee did in SWP, and the new drama stills showing her in a night club scene with male lead Ryu Jun Yeol feel lifted from Hwang Jung Eum also doing a night club type scene in SWP where she ends up being embarrassed. Luckily (har har) the story set up is different enough that I think Lucky Romance can easily carve out it’s own path and if the quality is there also bring in rom-com craving drama viewers. I feel like Goodbye Mr. Black has been dragging on so long that anticipation for Lucky Romance is dialed up even higher.

This looks exactly like She Was Pretty.HJE needs to try something new.she keeps playing the same character in all her drama.no wonder all her dramas looks excatly the same.
I guess this will be "She way pretty"2.0
I beg to differ that ALL her dramas look the same. I agree that lately they've all been very similar but I wouldn't say that blanket statement of ALL dramas. Giant. Endless Love. Secret. Can you hear my heart for example.
please be good drama for the sake of Ryu Jun Yeol.
It's actually a Casino not a Night Club
Glad that we're coming back to the regular rom-com genre after a while. This is what k-dramas are famous for the most.
It seems like this new drama would be a new success for MBC. I'm willing to watch Lucky Romance
Honestly I don't even care if it's similar to SWP or has the same rom-com cliches which it most likely will, I just want a fun, charming kdrama where the leads have chemistry.
It's been so long since I enjoyed a fluff, crack drama and I miss it so much. I was seriously hoping DoTS would be it for me but I just wasnt feeling it. I was even jealous of people who were into it haha.
Anyway hope it's good but I agree HJE needs to take on a very different role next time. She a versatile actress and I bet even she is getting bored.
ryu jun yeol looks good. i'm excited to watch him again after reply.
pleaseeeee, less screamiiing juseyooo eonni... seriously. her screaming, ught... somewhat overacting. just saying.
gonna give this one a try. one or two episodes wont hurt.
