The shiny Korean stars at this year’s 2016 Cannes Film Festival wasn’t only Gong Yoo and Jung Yumi, there to promote zombie thriller Train to Busan. Also at the French beach city are top actors Ha Jung Woo and Jo Jin Woong for their period movie The Handmaiden (Agasshi), along with female leads Kim Min Hee and Kim Tae Ri. The two groups even met up as evidenced by the uber cute picture of Gong Yoo sandwiched between Ha Jung Woo and Jo Jin Woong and the much too lucky Jung Yumi.
The Handmaiden is getting tons of attention not just for the excellent cast but also for the movie coming from the directing and writing hands of top Korean director Park Chan Wook (Vengeance trilogy and many more movies), based on an original same name novel by Sarah Waters. Korea is definitely sending its best and brightest to represent at Cannes, here’s hoping the movies are as entertaining as seeing the stars enjoying the film festival.

Ha JungWoo and Gong Yoo... i want a movie with them soon. I wish they make a sequel of Berlin File and get Gong Yoo... and add Jo JinWoong and Lee SungMin and Kim Heesun as the bad guu.
And Jung Yumi is just so pretty and adorable, she and Gong Yoo need to date or make a drama already. This has been 2 projects where they are either costars and that one drama cameo where they were romantic couple was just awesome...
Anywah i hope fingersmith does well in cannes. Eagerly waiting for it to come to my country. If not maybe subs will be out soon. Same goes for Train to Busan.
Which cameo was this? I am shipping them in rl too hehe.
Me too
I can't the pictures.
I mean I could not see the pictures.I can see them now but only one with gong.
Gong Yoo and Jung Yumi is <3.....date already please...all their photos together are so cute, especially with their child co-star..they look like a family.
Gong Yoo! *hearts in eyes*
(based on an original same name novel by Sarah Waters
The novel's title is actually Fingersmith, not the Handmaiden.)
I wonder how Korean audiences are able to tell actors with the same name apart. I can't read Hangul, but in English speaking countries, I imagine entertainers would at least add a middle initial to keep their name unique. Since their name is a brand. Each time I see Jung Yumi, I imagine the actress that's currently starring in Master of Revenge.
Train to Busan also got (really) good reviews from the critics, they really liked the fact that the film doesn't just look like another umpteenth zombie movie. Well, we have to acknowledge that dark Korean movies are the most popular (and distributed) in France... along with Hong Sang Soo's films (who is right now shooting his next film at Cannes with the French actress Isabelle Hupper and Kim Min Hee is said to make a cameo/have a small role in it!)
Both of these movies were well appreciated at Cannes Film Festival which is great!
Thank you for these photos. I like all the actors and actresses here. I have a thing for Ha Jung Woo so this makes me extra happy!
They all look like the cool Asian clique at Cannes (yes that is a Mean Girls reference!)
Gong Yoo my husband is doing so well... This is the first time I wish I was at Cannes during the festival.
Jung Yumi is always so cute! She and Gong Yoo look really good together!
