Perhaps the saddest entertainment world news story of 2016 was the suicide of Chinese singer-actor Kimi Qiao at the age of 27. It was completely shocking because of his sunshine boy persona in public and hard working reputation as someone who loved what he was doing. Turns out Kimi suffered from depression which was exacerbated in recent years by cruel C-netizens finding fault and lobbing criticism for real and imagined infractions. News has died down in the nearly three months since his passing but he’s back in the news for positive and heartwarming reasons.
Kimi’s label has released a posthumous album titled “Kimi” containing an anthology of his best songs and over a dozen news tracks which includes tracks recorded in the past which wasn’t included in previous albums along with news tracks recorded prior to his passing for his future work. There is also a new MV to go along with one of those songs. Kimi’s family has given full blessing for this new album and his fans are thrilled and comforted knowing that he’s doing what he loves best – singing his heart out and entertaining his fans, and with the proceeds being donated to a charity to help those suffering from the depression that took Kimi’s life much too early.

T.T wow, may he Rest In Peace.
Great action by the studio and his family - I'm so glad that they're upfront about Kimi's depression and is channeling help to others with the same illness.
May Kimi rest in peace. Depression is an issue that has always been ignored in the media. I'm happy that his management company and his family are trying to bring the issue to light.
There are many popular Korean artists that suffer for this disease, and a few of them had come forward acknowledging it. It is important to acknowledge and look for help, that is the only way one can get the help they need and fight it. It can be cured with proper help.
