Im Shi Wan Rocks the Military Buzz Cut as He Enlists for Mandatory Service

It’s quite a feat to pull off for a star to look better completed laid bare than fully decked out, so kudos to Im Shi Wan for leaving on such a visual high note. The idol actor, who in recent years has gained more acclaim for his second job than his primary boy band ZE:A membership, signed in for mandatory military duty today just as his upcoming sageuk drama A King Loves readies for premiere next week. I’m very vastly underwhelmed with his unappealing sageuk styling in that drama, the overly large head band and the high half pony does him no good so it’s such a happy surprise to see him looking so manly and handsome on enlistment day. The buzz cut looks fantastic on him in a way very few Korean actors and idols pulled off since getting buzzed usually reveals a head smaller than suits the tall muscular frame but in Im Shi Wan case he has quite a sturdy noggin so the whole image is proportional and quite appealing. Wishing him a healthy and productive service period and hopefully A King Loves ends up being a good drama to send him off on a high note.
