KBS Drama Manhole Plays Up Weirdness with Tongue-in-Cheek Humor

The more promos I see from upcoming KBS Wed-Thurs drama Manhole (Wonderland’s Feels or Feels So Good) the more I think the production is as aware of the title puns as the English speaking audience and is just running with it. The whole thing is screwball and that works well to humanize Jaejoong who typically comes across as a too perfect mannequin. It also helps that the other leads UEE, Jung Hye Sung, and Baro are also idol and model types so seeing four gorgeous people being goofy together has an added cheesiness. The official drama posters cribs from the famous Beatles moment on Abbey Road and the yellow may even be influenced from Yellow Submarine, the result is a charming and eye-catching visual that doesn’t just rely on four large profiles of the leads. KBS World released an official English subbed trailer that just piles on the laughs, most of which are the cringe variety.
