Sometimes I color just pops and I’m so enamored of Jang Geun Seok‘s blue trench coat in the just released new stills from SBS Mon-Tues drama Switch (Change the World). It’s a rich and vibrant shade of blue that totally complements Jang Geun Seok’s flashy spiky haired swindler look for the drama. Conversely his by-the-books prosecutor character does for the serious courtroom lawyer blue suit that signals he’s no-nonsense and criminals beware. This is the first modern drama for Jang Geun Seok in many years where he’s not trying to be the flower boy onscreen that first rocketed him to super stardom in You’re Beautiful. Everyone matures and so does the characters one chooses and hopefully Switch will showcase all the acting talents of Jang Geun Seok with none of the self-aware posturing.

Ms. K, I'm sure at this point, you are really happy to post anything Jang Geunsuk.
It makes me remembering the happy day that was during MSOAN and that has been so looong. If my memory serves me right, that was the start of my continuous visits to your playground.
Looking good...Hoping really nice things for him and his return.
You nailed it with the 'self-aware posturing'. It would be so nice if Jang Geun Seok just let the stylist style him and just forget trying to look pretty. It seems like most fans out there want to take on more manly type roles. I hope he picks more roles where we can see how versatile an actor he is.
yes I want to say the same about his "self-aware posturing" and I could see a glimpse of it in the short teaser which I hope won't perpetuate any further... His performance was good (ie. without any self-aware posturing") in The Royal Gambler, but it was just unfortunate that the writing was so poor that I could not tolerate watching past midway...
Oh wow @candycane you have said everything I wanted to say.He needs to let go of the "look am so cool, am so pretty mannerisms".We dont fully know the personality of this role. But am sure the character doesnt call for that. Its in the little micro expressions on his face. Its not that obvious but I saw that too.I know when you watch an actor over many projects..you begin to notice similar patterns in expressions. But a thorough director and the actor's willingness to engage with the director can help curb the "self aware posturing".
I have learned to be patient for the moment JKS disappears into a role because it is so worth it. Usually, i can still see 'him' in first episodes. But the moment he disappears into a role, all one can say is wow, that is stellar acting ? so looking forward t this drama!
