Consider me surprised that TV Chosun sageuk The Grand Prince (Daegun) did so well (on cable) in ratings, becoming the highest rated drama for the cable network’s history since its launch in 2011. Starring Joo Sang Wook, Yoon Shi Yoon, and Jin Se Yeon, the drama got ratings of 2.519% at the premiere all the way up to 5.627% in the final episode. Not bad for being the smallest of all the cable networks in Korea, and kudos to the cast and crew who celebrated the ratings success with a free hugs fan meeting last week.
This week comes news that the two leads Yoon Shi Yoon and Jin Se Yeon may be dating in real life, and I can totally see the other lead Joo Sang Wook who is married and expecting their first child with wife Cha Ye Ryun sitting back with the popcorn lol. According to anonymous staffers on the drama set, the two were acting quite close during filming and would hang out just the two of them during breaks. The two alleged lovebirds have denied the dating rumors through their respective agencies, claiming they are merely friends and close costars. Nothing to see here, folks.

I really liked the drama. But sometimes i was annoyed by the feamle lead. Dont know whether its her acting or something it just bothers me sometimes. And the acting was phenomenal by yoon shi yoon
Yeah there's something slightly stiff/unnatural about her expressions and it really shows when she's in scenes with other actors. I thought Ryu Hyo Young, who played the second lead, also started off not great but was still better at the acting.
Jin Seyeon should stick to historical dramas.
And they will make a beautiful couple if true.
I think Jin Se Yeon did great here XD. Im agree that she suits sageuks more than modern drama.
Staff members being busybodies and exposing couples on set. First with Woo Dohwan and Moon Gayoung, and now this.
Staff did the same thing with Park Bo Young and Park Hyung Shik on Strong Woman Do Bong Soon but they were really just rehearsing lines. It's silly imo but I get wanting extra buzz around your drama.
He always has good chemistry with his female co-star like Lee Se Young. Park Shin Hye etc.. Must be a slow news day for media to jump into dating rumour for these two.
Yoon Shi Yoon's agency MOA Entertainment shared that Shi Yoon doesn't know why such news was released. They never met outside of work and the dating rumours are definitely not true, zero possibility.
Like Koala said nothing to see here. LOL.
Lmao the fact that he said they never met outside of work is hilarious. They probably were just friendly plus they were rehearsing their lines but the drama staff got ahead of themselves and decided to share with reporters.
Congratulations..wonderful happy news.
The drama was solid and the costumes and cinematography fantastic but somehow the drama lost me in episode 12 and I never went back. It’s really well made though, with great performances by the male leads.
If they are dating, I’ll give Yoon Si Yoon my full support. They are both young, of age and so far unattached. Why shouldn’t they date if they like each other enough? Dude’s over 30, it’s high time he had a Significant Other.
Marketing tactics. Nothing else. Who the heck would even think that this non chemistry having pair even dated?
lol it didnt even take a month for Yoon Si Yoon to sign on to a new drama. If they had such palpatable chemistry to the point of dating.Couldnt it take a while for him before he takes on a new project to try and shake off his old character..like Koala said, "nothing to see here"?
Dating rumors aside, I think he just want to strike while the iron is hot. I don't think he has any successful projects since Kim Tak-gu, until this drama.
