The tears in a melodrama can at times feel forced, or at least contrived due to a wholly unrealistic set of circumstances that all aggregate together to manufacture a tragedy. That’s the narrative premise behind upcoming tvN drama Hundred Million Stars Falling From the Sky (The Smile Has Left Your Eyes) and yet the tears if forthcoming will likely not feel artificially elicited. The brother-sister relationship of Park Sung Woong with Jung So Min will have to be beautifully delivered to create the core humanity of this story, and build upon it the romance she has with male lead Seo In Guk to layer on the tension. I love how the production team has modernized the visuals for this version from the original J-dorama but captured the same shadowy mood, like a slow burn for when the shit is going to hit the fan.
There are weird casting choices and this one is weird from both the leads itself…

The BTS of the shooting was so funny. The picture with Park Sung Woong and Seo In Guk being funny and Jung So Min so serious in the arms of Seo In Guk was really funny to watch.
Never watched the original drama but I will definitely watch this one.
i could watch this cast stare at a wall for 16 hours it just makes it a hundred times better that they are acting in a remake of one of my favourite dramas
Everybody seems fitting to their roles, but the ML persona has changed.
I am usually not a fan of melodramas, but I can't say no to a new Seo In Guk drama.
underwhelming at the teaser, to be honest. Hopefully, they will give it justice on actual drama.
