Song Joong Ki Confirmed for Sci-fi Movie Lightning Ship Reuniting with A Werewolf Boy Director

This year 2019 appears to be the comeback year for Hallyu superstar actor Song Joong Ki, with not just a high profile K-drama in the works but now also a movie. He’s confirmed for the sci-fi outer space set movie Lightning Ship which will reunite him with the Director of the hit movie A Werewolf Boy. It’s the movie that put Song Joong Ki on the map with South Koreans, and we all know the drama Descendants of the Sun thereafter which put him on the map among broader Asia. Lightning Ship will be financed between Korea and China and will have a multi-ethnic cast of leads and a reportedly sky high budget for all the CGI effects. Considering he’s filming sageuk epic drama Asadal Chronicles already, I’m surmising Lightning Ship will go into production middle to latter half of 2019 with a 2020 premiere date.

He will be the lead, but not really sure if he will have co lead though, since the budget is high,im thinking maybe another big name veteran actor or actress.

There is a reason why he chose a movie even when Assadal chronicle hasn't aired yet. It's because he knows the drama sucks so he needs to bounce back.
