The stars have lined up to join together a high profile drama in search of a male lead and a famous actor returning from the military in search of a drama. Ji Chang Wook is in talks to be the male lead of sci-fi drama City of Stars, a project that has been in the works since 2018 with first male lead option Hyun Bin and later signing on Byun Yo Han who subsequently dropped out. I don’t think it’s indicative of the drama being bad, just timing and likely production issues whatnot behind the scenes. On paper it sounds like a sweet fit for Ji Chang Wook to step into the aspiring astronaut shoes of the male lead in City of Stars, a cool sounding role and one that will likely be physical and he’s primed to show off what he’s developed in the military. His discharge is next week on April 28th so we’ll likely hear if he’s accepted or declined shortly.
