Wow, what an supreme honor for talented director Bong Joon Ho for himself and to bring to South Korea. His latest movie Parasite premiered at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival last week to a 7-minute long standing ovation and rapturous early reviews. All that praise for the family and class-warfare subversive thriller movie starring Song Kang Ho, Choi Woo Shik, Park So Dam, Lee Seon Kyun and Yoo Yeo Jung has led to the ultimate honor as the film won the Cannes top prize the Palm D’Or today which is basically Best Movie. South Korea is so gonna lose their collective shit the way they did when the country last won a major prize at Cannes which was Jeon Do Yeon taking home Best Actress in 2007 for Secret Sunshine. Congrats to Bong Joon Ho and the cast and crew of Parasite, and I soooooo want to watch this movie!

Bong Joon Ho is one of my all time favorite directors and Song Kang Ho is one of my all time favorite actors so I'm very happy with this outcome.
And Bong Joon Ho truly is one of the best living directors in the world. All of his films (including the very early ones) show great mastery.
