In the Hong Sisters fantasy dramas they often pair a supernatural being with a human as the basis of the opposites attract and cannot be together tension ramped up to eternal. The same looks to happen again in their upcoming Hotel Del Luna set to premiere in July on tvN. IU plays a bad tempered thousands year old ghostly proprietress of the titular hotel which lodges other ghosts, and Yeo Jin Gu is the modern day human hotel manager talent that helps her run the place. It sounds like a K-version of Hotel Transylvania with only ghosts and likely tons of unresolved life and death angst plaguing many of the non-corporeal beings. The leads look really good together at the script reading, with IU getting her first younger leading man than her and Yeo Jin Gu really morphing fully into an adult leading man now that he’s over 21 years old.
