Jung Yumi Glows in First Movie Poster From Frank Feminist Voice Novel 1982 Born Kim Ji Young

I’ll admit to being interested in the movie adaptation of the novel 1982 Born Kim Ji Young because it was starring Gong Yoo and his third time reuniting with Jung Yumi. That’s giving her the short end of the stick but rather apt since she’s headlining a story based on a woman representing all women in South Korean society always getting the short end of the stick. There are so many big and small unfairness that the patriarchal society levies on its women and the titular Kim Ji Young (supposedly the most popular female name in South Korea) tells us through her own anecdotal experiences same things that happen to other women in the country. I’m thrilled for this story to get the big name stars and big screen treatment, especially since reportedly some conservative men in South Korea really hated the novel. Jung Yumi glowing like a goddess in the first poster is just cherry on top.
