Bevy of Big Name K-stars Descend on Opening Night of 2019 Busan International Film Festival

Now this is more like it! The opening night red carpet of the 2019 Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) really delivered the wow factor with many famous names and faces showing up to support the local film industry. The big pairing to walk the red carpet together was Jung Woo Sung and Honey Lee looking impeccable in the respective black tie fashion. Yoona won my favorite look of the night with a yellow chiffon ball gown with floral appliques, it was large and poofy and she pulled it off with her sweet looks and tall physique. BIFF is Korea’s biggest film festival and also now one of the top film festivals around the world so I’m excited also to see what exciting films premiere there and get recognition.

  • Mostly black and white, the perennial staples of k-ent fashion. Boring. I’ll probably have to wait til next century for some real color on the red carpet. How I miss red! (Big sigh ?).

  • It is not like how they dress in their dramas or movies, SK red carpet is so boring for its sea of black and white. Can they dress like IU in HDL? For once.

  • Once again, bland and boring red carpet for South Korea. There are so many colors in the rainbow, why they always choose just black and white? Adding to the snooze factor is the lack of interesting accessories-just one or 2 of the celebs even bothering to try. (Although low key to no accessories look is rampant in Hollywood, too.) Kudos to Yoona for being willing to at least use color and embroidery pattern to try and add some excitement.

  • Wasn't feeling koalas description of yoona's yellow dress until I scrolled down to the sea of black and white.
