Lee Dong Wook to Play a Male Gumiho in Upcoming K-drama Tale of Gumiho

I don’t know what else to call this other than Goblin 2 or Goblin Redux or Goblin Lite. Lee Gong Wook is in talks to star as a male gumiho, a nine-tailed fox seductress that in folklore is always a woman. There have been male gumiho gender reversals done before most notably in Gu Family Book. This time in Tale of Gumiho it’s set in the modern world and Lee Dong Wook’s gumiho was formerly a god protector of a mountain and now lives in the city traveling between the human and underworlds keeping order. A TV newscaster becomes obsessed with finding and outing him. This sounds rather kitschy but could be entertaining.
