The doctor + teacher is bad in the house, or hospital, as filming as kicked off for season 2 of Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim. The first one with Han Suk Kyu, Yoo Yeon Suk, and Seo Hyun Jin got good ratings so it’s reasonable SBS would bank on the same formula for a second go-around. It works because only Han Suk Kyu as the titular doctor is coming back and this time he teaches two new younger doctors played by Lee Sung Kyung and Ahn Hyo Seob. I like this new cast, the leads are younger and also provides new backstories to with emotional trauma to get over and become better surgeons. The drama will take over the time slot from VIP this January.

I really like Lee Sung Kyung since Doctors and WF Kim Bok Joo. She can play dorky tomboy or sassy rich girl with ease. Very talented and versatile. Like her energy and freshness she brings to each role. Going to be the next generation of K-drama actress to keep the Hallyu flame burning.
Lee sungkyung acting is a meh I wonder why she keeps getting cast.
A lot of more meh actresses get casted even as lead, I can name at least 2. LSK is tall, pretty and looking fresh, why not? Given the right script, she has potential to shine just like in WFKBJ. People watch Romantic Doctor for HSK, the minions won’t matter.
I liked LSK in Weightlifting Fairy. And AHS was adorable in Still Seventeen but I did not watch Abyss despite my initial excitement. So I'm on the fence with this one. The article didn't mention who the PD and writer would be. If it's the PD and writer who worked on the original series then I'm in. If not, I might just check out the first episode to decide if I'm in for the long haul. I love the original cast so I might not warm up so easily with this new casting.
I hope it will have AR of 16:9 like season 1. I've lost appetite in Jo Deul Ho season 2 because it has thick black bars, but still manage to watch 4 episodes of it, before realize that the story was so not for me. I hope this Romantic Doctor season 2 won't make the same mistakes.
I didn't watch s1, what is "ar of 16:9"?
