Let’s get this out of the way, all the leads for upcoming SBS fantasy drama The King: Eternal Monarch looks great. Why wouldn’t they, with the big budget and also their natural visuals namely Lee Min Ho, Kim Go Eun, and Woo Do Hwan. I also think screenwriter Kim Eun Sook heard all the criticism lobbed at her writing of Kim Go Eun’s character in Goblin and this time actually makes her a strong, adult, and non-aegyo leaning female lead. She plays a cop and an orphaned thief in her two characters, with Lee Min Ho as the King of South Korea in a fantasy parallel universe that comes over to her world, and Woo Do Hwan is the King’s closest bodyguard in one world and also a cop in the other. I always get addicted to Kim Eun Sook dramas after watching so I don’t focus too much on the set up, it’s either going to float your boat or it won’t and I for one am super duper excited.

I hope kim go eun character is better this time than goblin. Otherwise looks like this year is year of monolid trio.
Lee min ho looks much better than the look they gave him during heirs. Here he looks much better and rough. I hope he takes rest after drama as he said filming takes toll on him as he grows older and past injuries haunt showing affects now. And his cgaracter looks so interesting. This drama has all elements to succeed like dots or goblin. So i hope it becomes massive. All the best. Also i keep reading about fresh faces. You know why likes of lmh sjk ksh hb gy etc get such top projects? Because they have earned them . Rookies need to prove themselves capable enough to land such roles. When shareholders meeting is set, they look at actors who can bring advertisers and sell it overseas.
I like Eun Tak in Goblin. For me, she was a pretty strong character. I'm really happy to see KGE in a new drama :)
For this drama, I'm so excited to see Wo Do Hwan and Kim Kyung Nam! I like the both actors. Wo Do Hwan in a bodyguard after My Country is a very good idea! KKM is a very good actor, he always shines in his roles.

She was lucky OMG cos she was cast in JIS last 2 movies The King and The Great Battle.

Yes @adyhyunjung for sure absolutely loved LOTBS as I have never and don't intend on watching BOF so am happy LOTBS was my go to with JJH as FL and seeing LMH was enough to hook me in and I haven't regretted it ever since.
I am more looking forward to the stories of the supporting characters. ??
Goblin was one of the few dramas I could not finish when it came out because of the way KES wrote the main female’s character. Hoping this time around it will be better!
