• Used to like him a lot. But after the way he divorced SHK while she was away from Korea, I dislike him. With proclamation of so much love to SHK, he chose such a hurtful and disrespectful method, I find him disappointing.

  Don't you think he is after fame? When he first announced his marriage, it happened soon after his movie was premiered. When he announced his divorce, it happened soon after his Arthdal Chronicles series was released.

    I feel exactly the same. It was so disrespectful and thoughtless, what he did and how he did his divorce, and this knowing how media works. I'm just so glad that SHK handled the divorce the way she did, and now she came victorious over all of the negativity that his actions created. I feel that she'll continue with her winning streak. For me, I just lost respect in him. I just would never watch any of his projects anymore.

  • I agree. you said the exact words I feel. All his declarations of love for shk in the media whether broadcast or print, are just a ruse for his fame and publicity. I’m very disappointed with his behavior last year.
    other celebrities who divorced (lee dong gun recently) chose a civil and neutral route, but sjk chose the hurtful and disrespectful way so the public will a cast a stone against shk. Not a gentleman at all.
    At least now we know what his true character is, he is the type who will throw you under the bus to save himself. Anyway, he will reap what he sow.

• I like his movie Werewolf BOY and love the drama DOTS which vaulted him to A list status. He had wonderful female leads in both projects. I am not a fan but was stunned with how the divorce was handled. After Arthadal I think he's just going to focus on movies since whatever drama he will accept will only be compared to DOTS success.

  I think music flick best be rejected. Space Sweepers is a much needed hit for him.

• Some people may comment it must be SHK fault that he chose to divorce in this manner. Some even claimed probably she is unfaithful or being difficult to live with. But if they observed carefully, her staff & her friends are consistently still around her during her 20 or 20+ years in this harsh industry. If she is an unfaithful and such demanding person, will her staff and even non-celebrity friends still be loyal to her after so many years?

  It's takes 2 hands to clap for a marriage to work. Even if SHK had disappointed SJK in a manner that he wanted divorce, he shouldn't announced his divorce to the public especially when SHK was not around in Korea at that time. It's a very disrespectful act considering that he seemed to project his unfailing love to SHK in his marriage vows. The words he described in the divorce announcement also sounds hints of anger towards her. It's very disappointing.

  • Actually, SHK was the one who suggested the divorce. Around the same time she decided to leave her house. But they were probably supposed to wait until his drama completed its broadcast before making it official. And according to a report, they mutually agreed to get divorced in May so I'm not sure why he went ahead of her. But SHK had been consistent with her actions since Feb when she started talking about focusing on herself, disabled her IG's comment section, deleted a lot of pics, deactivated her private IG etc. whereas he still talked about her supporting him days before the announcement.

    Anyway, I dislike SJK for the way he handled his divorce process but still, I wish him luck in his future projects.

    • Divorse need a sign for both parties BEFORE applying it to the court ? SHK is outside korea when SJK apply went to court for divorse. logic? how can court accepted it with SHK sign in the divorse paper? simply, before SHK went outside the country she already SIGNED that divorse paper and what's amazing is SJK accepted all the blame and criticism about him and never give a BAD comment or statement about his previous wife ? SJK keep all by himself no wonder he is stress out during those days ☹️

    • Idk if a divorce application needs both parties to sign coz I'm not a lawyer but I did say SJK and SHK agreed to get a divorce in May but he still went behind her back to file first while she was out of the country. He even instructed his lawyer to spread the news to as many outlets as possible and warned his ex-wife not to say anything when all she did was releasing an official statement via her agency. Why do you think he did all those?
      And do you think SJK was the only one taking all the blame? What about all those times Knetz and some of his fans saying she had a Chinese sponsor or she had cheated on her husband with her co-star? Yes, SJK was criticized but let's not act like SHK walked away with sympathy from public either. She was already being judged and punished the day he decided to submit his application.

      Btw, I'm not sure if you're familiar with Hong Sang Soo, Kim Min Hee's boyfriend. He wanted to divorce his wife but he couldn't get his application granted because his wife had a proof he cheated and she didn't wanna divorce him. So if the wife had already signed the divorce paper before he applied as you claimed, wouldn't he be granted the divorce already?

• @M, yes, agreed with you that SJK will not be going to do dramas for a while because his most recent drama is a flop.

  I guess movies is the direction he is heading to uphold his status. Actually his status starts to be a bit shaky after his divorce from SHK.

  Glad the Korea conservative environment didn't bring down SHK. She still continue her works as usual and yet remains tight lip even when her divorce create endless rumours at that time which I greatly admire.

  • Everyone commenting about why the divorce was brought out here when this article is about his work. Well, for me personally, I have no interest or plan to even glance at any of his projects because of how he handled his divorce. Just not the kind of a man to give my support. There's that connection. Just read his official statement when he filed his divorce. Very clear of his intention. I'm just glad that the SHK team took the high road and fought back in a respectable manner. People, like me, saw it through like that. I'm not a SHK fan, but came to admire her after the divorce. She's a tough cookie, and very very lucky to have loyal family and friends who support her, and a very smart legal team behind her.

    Anyway, a resounding no to his future projects for me.

      A celebrity will always be tied up with his personal life. If work is work, personal life has nothing to do with work, then why those celebrities like Park Yoochun & Kang Ji Hwan careers suffered because of their shady dealings.

      Totally agree that his official divorce statement is a total turn-off. He has that intention to throw SHK under the bus to save himself. It's shocking to see him so callous when he used to declare so much love to her. Really disgusted by his behavior.

    • He is an actor, and just doing his job just like any other person. But every actors life is already so much on the internet. And Ofc Pepe like us just can't give them the privacy. He is an actor and judging him only on his works is what needed. But we just can't just get enough of what is happening in their private lives. No one's perfect and plus whatever is shown to us is just a speck of what actually happened. Anyway everyone has their own perceptions, but for me it's either I know everything or nothing; hanging in between and deriving conclusions and giving character certificates to people from the little we actually know is not nice.

• This paves the way for a new actor to be cast or to cancel the movie altogether. Best to to cast someone with a singing and songwriting background so that the singing scenes at the very least would be more authentic and believable. SIG would fit the bill perfectly. After all, his Shopping King Louis character was conned by a voice phishing scammer who told him he was actually Song Joong Ki. So if SIG were to play a character that was offered to SJK that would be really hilarious and ironic.

• Its fine Joong Ki samchoon, in this world you cant please all people. Those who know what happened, know you best. You've loved hard, but even that came to an end.
  Good luck with the next phase of your life and career. Keep choosing diverse roles, keep honing your skills, for you still have long way ahead of you.

  • Hi i love your post. Song joong ki shhh...is always the celebrity that i admired the most, he can act well and of course he is so good looking and charming. His personal life has got nothing to do with his career and moreover we are outsiders, we don't really know what exactly happened to both of them, for me i only look at his acting ability and he deserves to be one of the best K drama actor ever,i adore you SJK, keep up with the good work and i am looking forward to enjoy your new movies.

    • It’s because some people are strongly emotionally attached and develop bias feelings toward certain things/ people/objects. As a matter of fact, once you dislike someone/ something, whatever that person does will be a displease to you.

• Good for him. He needs sometime. And hopefully more skilled person get this role because it’s about a singer.
