The Search is coming soon and I’m stoked for this new direction for male lead Jang Dong Yoon. Sageuk The Tale of Nokdu showed that he can do both cute and manly AT THE SAME TIME (so wow) and now he’s taking on the role of a search squadron commander stationed int he DMZ facing a dangerous monster-ish enemy that is wreaking havoc. Joining him in the search is Krystal as a fellow South Korean army officer and both of them make sense as higher ranking soldiers only if you realize that South Korean men can enlist when they turn 18. The drama posters are dark and foreboding, especially the one below where something is tracking a soldier through the barb wire with an animal gaze. I hope this drama actually has a real monster just to make it more entertaining.
This year 2024 has been a slow year for K-actress Suzy in terms of her…
There are weird casting choices and this one is weird from both the leads itself…
Well this is an interesting pairing, setting aside the age difference at least I can…
I swear I just wrote about Song Joong Ki having his first baby and then…
At the end of the day, the core of any good drama remains the Story,…
If I didn't know this drama was a romance set in space and done K-drama…

This dark drama is right up my alley and I love Jang Dong Yoon, but I so wished the female lead was not Krystal.
I'm sorry, but why do they keep giving these female idols lead roles and they can't act to save their lives. So many other underrated actresses, ex: Kim So Eun for example, are then stuck with shitty roles (she hasn't had a good project since Liar Game).
Krystal is terrible at the typical kdrama lead type of roles (eg My Lovely Girl) but unlike some of her peers, she isn't a complete writeoff as an actress - she has decent comic timing in Heirs. Not seen her in anything else but I heard she was ok in Hospital Playbook too.
Krystal's act is really good in The Player. So, I'm looking forward for this drama!
