It’s like a jolt of awesome when I saw the first promos for upcoming tvN Mon-Tues drama Awaken (Korean title Night and Day). It’s like the production knows its top asset is male lead Namgong Min and is putting all the heavy lifting on him. The poster is pretty standard for a thriller, dark tonal visuals but Namgong Min’s eyes speak volumes in showing his quiet internalized torment. The teaser preview is awesome too but hilariously reminds me of the Park Bo Gum scene at the beginning episodes of Record of Youth when he played a bad gangster in the movie within the drama and beat up the movie male lead in a warehouse. He looked like a young boy playing dress up while Namgong Min in the same type of role is just spot on method acting.
Teaser for Awaken:
This year 2024 has been a slow year for K-actress Suzy in terms of her…
There are weird casting choices and this one is weird from both the leads itself…
Well this is an interesting pairing, setting aside the age difference at least I can…
I swear I just wrote about Song Joong Ki having his first baby and then…
At the end of the day, the core of any good drama remains the Story,…
If I didn't know this drama was a romance set in space and done K-drama…

PBG being 15 years younger than NGM also plays a huge part....
No PBG acting is limited to smiling in different ways,he can't carry a serious, dark role like this. NGM is much better actor outside pretty boy rom coms like PBG. That's the huge difference....
PBG is nothing compared to a veteran.
Yeah you can't compare all the different roles NGM has done for years to what PBG has done so far. I watched Doctor Prisoner on Netflix just because Namgong Min was so damn good, intense in that role.
he kinda reminds me go kimutaku here
NGM is channeling Chow Yun Fat and Jang Hyuk here with his own vibe. Looking forward to this.
He looks really handsome in this poster!

Namgoong Min always bring it. His dramas are a must watch for me simply because he's such a great actor. His last drama I watched Hot Stove League was a delight too.
