I’m not holding high high hopes for upcoming KBS sageuk Secret Royal Inspector as it seems to be taking a more light and hokey approach than I would have preferred but low expectations means this drama need only be pleasantly non-sucky and it would be a win. I do like the first drama poster, definitely different from the usual pose the leads against a backdrop layout and male lead L is giving off tons of eye acting with the raised and furrowed brow with haughty yangban aura. He’s the titular secret royal inspector aided by Kwon Nara playing a damo (police woman) and his loyal servant played by Lee Yi Kyung. The trio are tasked with rooting out corruption and public injustice which is always satisfying to watch when the baddies get their comeuppance. The drama drops in another month right before Christmas on December 21st.

It is quite obvious that L is lying about his height. Kwon Na-ra is taller than him on those pictures. Why can't Korean actors/idols state their real height? L is definitely not 180cm and Na-ra is taller than 171cm, albeit not 180cm... Hallyu used to be cool, but nowadays it is basically a scam trying to sell people perfect, handsome oppas that do not exist.
Not a fan of L's acting at all, but I am so happy to see Nara in a leading role. She's been great in her last 3 projects: Itaewon Class, Doctor Prisoner, My Mister. And Lee Yi Kyung is always stellar in every role, so I'm still going to check this out.
