jTBC Drama Sunbae Please Don’t Put on That Lipstick Stays Steady in Sweet Romance and Averaging 1.762% Ratings Midway Through

My hot and heavy swooning over Ro Woon‘s performance and character in jTBC drama Sunbae Please Don’t Put on That Lipstick (She Would Never Know) has cooled which is good because that was all hormones talking and the most recent batch of episodes I can focus on the plot. It’s actually not as wack as I thought it would go, the douchey second male lead has accepted his choice and lot in life and is trying to spend more time with the possessive and entitled second female lead. Those two please stay together and occasionally pop up for some tension is fine by me. The supporting roles remain entertaining and I quite adore the workplace crew. Best yet is the slow soft burn of the OTP, with Hyun Seung being so considerate but never pushy or line-crossing and Song Ah taking time to heal first before letting herself fall in love again. Wow, how mature of them both love it! The drama isn’t a big ratings or audience buzzer but it’s been quite relaxing and entertaining a watch for me every Mon-Tues.

  • I had planned to marathon this drama, but watching some clips on YouTube made watch epi1 and I got hooked. I like the core and maturity of the leads.

  • three of Won Jinahs drama were she's the main lead got 1-2% viewership rating. Just berween lovers, Melting Me Softly and now she would never know.

  • I am one of the few who enjoys this drama, for me it is so soft but mature at the same time, it has bad grades, right, but lately JTBC is not achieving great ratings with its productions.

  • JTBC mon-tue dramas before got low ratings too, but at least Sunbae still get recognized there because every ending of episodes always in top rank of naver tv.

Beside Rowoon and WJA pairing (I read a lot of critiques about WJA acting but tbh I find her acting is enjoyable and fit with her), I enjoy every scene with the office mates and esp Rowoon's niece. She's so cute

  • I didn't expect high ratings, the story is a slow romance, not everyone likes it.

But I really like it. Rowoon and WJA are doing a great job. There are so many swoony moments!

I like the supporting cast : the coworkers are super funny and supportive, the 2 sisters, the super cute niece, the best friend, etc.

    • Lovestruck in the City is very different from the usual dramas. The format is 30 min by episode one on the Tuesday and one on the Friday. It's a documentary type the most of the time and the characters are super frustrating. But the themes on which they must give their opinion are really interesting.

She Would Never Know is the typical romance Kdrama but very well done (acting, image, ost, etc.). The characters are interesting with flaws but they evolve.

  • Since the one-two punch of SC and WOTM, jTBC has been lagging in the ratings department. Hope they bounce back soon.

  • I enjoyed this drama more than i thought. What i like about this drama is the way the characters releasize their mistakes and make up for it, like we are witnessing their maturing process. Also, Rowoon and Won Jin Ah acting and chemistry work for it.
