Shin Mina, Kim Sun Ho, and Lee Sang Yi Blossom with Joyful Auras in Character Posters and New Preview for Hometown Cha Cha Cha

I wish tvN didn’t photoshop the posters so much for Hometown Cha Cha Cha, female lead Shin Mina is overbrushed and male lead Kim Sun Ho has too much makeup and honestly both are perfect exactly as they are. That quibble aside, I’m hoping this fun vibe K-drama delivers the much needed end of summer last hurrah of joy as it’s been quite a wasteland for me after My Roommate is a Gumiho ended. I’m also happy to see second male lead Lee Sang Yi join the promo circuit and he’s basically the next Kim Sun Ho, ready for his own breakout and if the drama gods are on the karma train then viewers are going to swoon for his character here much like we all did for Kim Sun Ho’s Ji Pyeong in Start-up. Speaking of which, the Koala Teens LOVED Start-up (cute story and fun start-up learnings) and were totally Team Ji Pyeong and I almost disowned them because OMG Do San is who Dal Mi loves! but anyhoo I’m hoping Hometown is as adorable as it looks so we can do another family watch.

  • Ugh I agree why is Shin Mina so overly photoshopped? She is gorgeous and doesn't need it. I am hoping this drama gets her the international popularity she deserves. She has been around for a long time but deserves a big hit worthy of her talent.

  • LoL all 3 posters are photoshopped as in soompi...Seon Ho n Mina couple colour -yellow. It gonna be fun refreshing drama cheers cute Shikhye couple n sang yi.

Seon Ho's drama is a must watch for me - all his dramas are jjiang. Yay 11 more days to watch homecha.

  • The trailers for this show is giving me Hallmark movie vibes, and not in a good way. That being said, hope the show is better than the trailers because I have been in severe kdrama drought since Vincenzo ended.

Is it just me or did 2020 have way more hit kdramas? At this time last year there was already CLOY, IONTBO, HP, Itaewon. 2021 has been lackluster in comparison. Maybe things are backloaded for Q4??

    • 2020 was also when COVID-19 started and lockdowns happened. People had no choice but to stay home and the only thing most of us did to combat boredom was watch tv. So, that is partly why 2020 had so many kdrama hits. I,myself, got introduced to Korean dramas because I ran out of anything interesting to watch during lockdown.

      • Sure covid was a factor, but CLOY, HP, IONTBO and IC are legit excellent dramas that would still be hits in any other year. And CLOY finished airing just before pandemic hit and had huge ratings domestically.

  • Love all 3 actors as actors. I even watched and rewatched Once again for Lee Sang Yi. And Cactch the ghost for KSH.

So am happy just to see both on screen.

  • I feel like Lee Sang Yi already had his star-making moment in South Korea after being in "Once Again" and MSG Wanna-Be. I guess he just needs to become more well known with international audiences.

  • I'm not keeping my hopes up. TVN and JTBC both failed to give me the crack drama I've been looking for.
