There is so much disparate threads going on in Lovers of the Red Sky and so far it’s managed to not cross streams in messing any up. The central romance, with it’s fate and she’s got his eyes and holds to key to containing the demon spirit in him, is progressing nicely on a human level. I love that they don’t have the usual sageuk arrogant man and sassy girl dynamic, he’s so tender and considerate of her while she’s spirited but not overly so with him. It’s also great that they each have their own goal in life – he’s out for revenge and she just wants to paint and also take care of her dad, so that allows them to keep on their own merry paths while constantly finding fate bringing them together until they figure out their goals ultimately align. I love seeing them so good to each other, I can’t get enough of this cute OTP.

Loved this, warts and all. I very much enjoyed AHS in RDTK2 so it's great to see him deliver a steady performance in a different role. KYJ is indeed the sageuk fairy. I'd love to see her in a Three Kingdoms or Goryeo era sageuk one day. The OTP is just adorable. I have a ton of questions but for now I'll wait for the drama to provide the answers.
It's a nice drama for now, with humor, fantasy, politics! The cast is good too.
Yeah I like the characterization, he is a nice guy, just on the path of revenge. She wants to heal her dad and not an overly nice girl who will do good for the world, she is actually up for illegal stuff.
