We’re in October now so this may be one of the last K-dramas to air in 2021 with the time remaining. The script reading stills are out for the cast of tvN drama Shooting Star set in the entertainment industry. It sounds and feels a lot like Record of Youth just in overall set up. Starring Lee Sung Kyung and Kim Young Dae, she’s a top PR director at an entertainment agency and he’s the top star on their roster. Clearly she’ll manage and clean up his hot tempered messes all the while falling in love, and throw in all the usual insider ups and downs from being in the industry. Visually the two leads look amazing together and the acting ability is there, I’m just not super keen on another drama set in the entertainment industry. But the director is quite diverse having helmed Awaken, Witch’s Diner, and Find Me in Your Memory, so count me in at least to check this out.

The drama is scheduled for next year most likely after the KTR-NJH drama which makes it an almost identical follow up in terms of lead cast visual. I'm actually looking forward to both dramas.
As someone who's sick to the teeth of supernatural/paranormal/uberviolent Dramas, to see news of a headline Drama without any of those elements is refreshing indeed.
I am a fan of Lee sung kyung. She has everything for viewers to love: beautiful, cheerful, sometimes looks cunny, smart or villain? although most people criticize her acting, she is waaaay better than some "A-list" actresses. Plus, Kim young dae is handsome rookie who can show his acting skills. He matches her well. Besides, plot seems unique and entertaining by being released on "dark horse" tvn. So there are plenty of reasons to check this drama.
Not the director of Awaken. That is like an anti-recommendation. That drama was so terrible I had to drop it halfway through despite my love for Nam Goong Min and Lee Chung Ah.
I wonder if this will do well. I actually really like Lee Sung Kyung. She isn't an acting genius but I think she is as talented as certain more popular actresses and she is stunning. However, for some reason she cannot find the right acting vehicle for a hit. Meanwhile Kim Young Dae has not lead a drama before and isn't known for his good acting.
I first saw Lee Sung Kyung in Weightlifting Fairy and I've been a fan since day one. Her chemistry with her leading men is undeniable. Much love for this beauty. Her eyes alone can speak a thousand words. There is something beautiful to look forward to before the year ends.?
