I feel like all K-dramas are going to get shafted for the first three weeks of February once the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics kicks off. That’s fine its the prerogative for the networks to air what they wish but for viewers it really does stem any momentum. On the heel of SBS preempting its Fri-Sat drama Through the Darkness (Those Who Read Hearts of Evil), MBC will also preempt its Fri-Sat offering Tracer with Im Shi Wan, Son Hyun Joo, and Go Ah Sung. The drama will have aired only 6 episodes before takes a three week hiatus and so far the reviews have been positive though it hasn’t been bringing in the rising ratings that predecessor The Red Sleeve Cuff did. The ratings are around the mid-7% range but I’ve heard tons of great stuff about this drama dealing with people working at the National Tax Service tracking down egregious tax evading criminals.

Six episodes have aired already. This weekend will make eight having aired before the preemption.
I really wish they had planned ahead and held the dramas. On the Verge of Insanity was preempted for several weeks during the summer Olympics and it was hard as a viewer.
Oh so On The Verge of Insanity was preempted, that was why it had low ratings despite being so brilliant.
I guess networks want to broadcast olpics for ratings, just sad for the dramas they preempt and shuffle, cause it really lowers down tension and momentum. Urgh, they are doing such disservice...
Kairos was preempted for multiple weeks too for baseball in 2020. It was so dissappointing becasue the drama was brilliant but had low ratings and the preemptions didn't help.
Y'all coming out of the woodworks with all these brilliant dramas, i've never heard of them but will check them out. Please any more suggestions for really good dramas :D
This one too ! No Tracer, no Through the darkness, what i'm going to watch ? They should have canceled winter Olympics . Well i know that i'm being childish, but i have x good reasons , COVID didn't disappear , january is a depressive and cold month, ...
FYI. Tracer is an original Wavve drama which has 2 seasons. This week is the end of the first season which totaled 8 episodes.

Season 2 will have 8 episodes as well and Wavve will release all 8 episodes on 18-Feb.
p.s. MBC will start to air Season 2 starting 25-Feb after the Winter Olympics

It may be the case that it has 2 seasons, but isn't it true that this preemption was probably not part of their airing schedule? thus they made this announcement just today rather than at the start of its airing? its like a belated excuse to rationalize their decision and get a hold of the audience?
Maybe it will give time for the translation.. Neither Netflix, Viki, Iqiyi chose this drama...
Wow, this drama has not only received positive reviews, but also has an impact on the real world today.
The Korea National Tax Service is setting up a task force named as “Tracer team” for hunting down high-income malicious tax delinquents.
