I remember K-actress Lee Sung Kyung working nonstop with at least a drama a year after her debut and breakout right off the bat in It’s Okay, It’s Love. She did a few memorable stints in second lead territory before her first lead in Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo in 2016. After that it was lead land permanently but she has been away for over two years now since Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim 2 in early 2020. If she was a guy I would have thought she was off in military service lol, but all joking aside maybe she intentionally took a breather and coming back with the tvN drama Shooting Star is the project she was waiting for. She plays a PR manager at an entertainment agency and falls for the emotional top star male lead she’s tasked with wrangling.
There are weird casting choices and this one is weird from both the leads itself…
Well this is an interesting pairing, setting aside the age difference at least I can…
I swear I just wrote about Song Joong Ki having his first baby and then…

I love her acting so much. Some ppl say sge acts cringy but for me she is more natural than other "overhyped new rom-com queens". Actually, she deserves more main leads, but now she became picky regarding projects which is good. Cauz if she plays several roles in one or 2 years, viewers will become bored with her face. She is young yet, she will manage playing more lead roles.
The reason why I respect and love her is she really tries to create chemistry with her co-stars.So far if she acted with some actors, she always was able to have sizzling chemistry with her co-stars. Nam Joo Hyuk, Ahn Hyeo Syeop..
Estoy de acuerdo, me encanta como actriz ella es muy versatil
I like Lee Sungkyung's acting too. She also tries out different characters to spread out her repertoire, even though she could have gone on a safer career route. A lot of people did not appreciate her portrayal of Inha in "Cheese in the Trap", but I liked it because she made Inha an entertaining character in spite of her despicable personality.
Her male leads get younger also 94->95->96. This seems to be a growing trend. Earlier there was a large number of older actors with younger actresses by a big margin now its always older actresses with younger actors by quite the margin. I still think same age couples are the best but noona romances need space to grow before we get tired of them.
Is it a noona romance if the characters are similar age, but the actors have an age difference?
LSK's older than Ahn Hyo-seop in real life, but I think they were the same age in Romantic Doctor Kim 2 since they were both the same residency year? I think her and Nam Joo Hyuk's characters were supposed to be the same age too or maybe she was one year younger, though the actors have a 4-year age difference.
I'm not sure how old the characters are supposed to be in this drama. She's a PR manager and he's a top star (rather than an idol) so the age gap may be lower or he may even be older.
Age-wise of the characters, they older actresses play younger and the actors play older, sort of narrowing the gap.
We've got some oppa romances too recently- Business Proposal, Crazy Love, maybe Twenty Five Twenty One (if we go by the characters' ages). The new Yoon Shi-yoon drama could be an oppa romance if we go by the actors' ages.
for some reason, i thought kim young dae was njh's age. but wow he's younger than ahs too.
I hope LSK and Lee Jong Suk paired up in a drama soon. I don’t know why she does not pair up with famous actor yet.
I like her acting a lot. Better than most famous actresses like SHK, Suzy, IU alike
I agree
